I was curious how exacly wow woul look if it got a little graphical update. So here are some results.

Sword slinger's character. (exuse the absence of particles, but due export from model viewer they are being removed, and I am just too lazy to add them myself.)

(Please exuse the crappiness of youtube quality.. if any one know any better streaming website, and would like to see this in full resolution, please post)

Zillanti. please pardon the cloak. forgot to set it 2 sided.

Roderigo's render
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFIBvWsJzr4
Lothar vs gruul manument. No defuse textures. Means this whole scene is shader rendered. All you see is shadows from lightsource, no real *drawn detail*.

fel orc render.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-63-gS1lho
the murlock costume. (Oren - Nayar - Blin shader. bumb mapping. Self illumination. Specular color and level)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdXhXDqhza8
animation rigging test. This model will be used in my long nimation :D (( This model HAS been smoothed out! This is not a low poly mesh))
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYplM6h684o
real time simulated cloth attached to a deformable mesh. aka, cool looking cloak on wow character :) (( the cloak HAS BEEN turbosmoothed))
The model is my character, exported from model viewer, and got it's original textures.
Then I have used same textures as masks under different map types, (Specular light, Primitive bumb, and some different shaders)
No model and no texture was modefied during this process. The textures were simply copied from ambient color map, into bump and specular light map, to create the illusion of lightning and shading details on character.
A light source was added with the most primitive real time shadows.
Post processing glow with brightness filter was added
All this shows that there is no real need to remake textures/models for the game to look better, if engine is being upgraded even in the most primive ways. I am more then convinved that a big chunk of playerbase have strong anough machines to run a couple more feutures that could be turned on and off by choice. Please blizzard, the game needs some graphical improvements :(

Q u o t e: That actually looks pretty good.
thanks. To show how easy this all can be done. I will remake 5 of the next posters, so they can see their own character, and compare their wow character, with the one that I rendered. So.. you will be my first attempt.
(The only thing that might be different is the face, since wow armory has no way of storing facial feutures)

Sword slinger's character is being rendered right now, and uploaded shortly. As promised I will do next 4 characters. If the post goes on I might continue rendering you people just to get bliz's attention

May I suggest that in addition to just characters, do a rendering of lanscape.

Yeah man.
Good work, that is pretty hot.
Blizzard should take a lerner from ya.
I stopped reading the babelfish translation after it said;
