Q u o t e: I read the first page and then jumped to this page... So if I missed the answer to my question I'm sorry. Please point it out to me.
My question:
Is Devastate better once you consider armor? I notice all your calculations and comparisons were done assuming creatures have 0 armor... Referring back to your comparison of Bloodlord's defender devastate and Sunder. If you factor even the smallest amount of armor into that calculation Bloodlord's defender falls behind.
I guess I'd like a realistic comparison including events that I see everyday tanking, i.e. non 0 armor mobs.
For instance, in Shattered halls with my 2.6 speed 71dps claw my devastate hits for ~90 on creatues pre-sunder. Is this really better than the static sunder threat value?
Going off the description of it, I think it's useless unless you apply 5 sunders. If you don't have 5 sunders, keep sundering. Once you reach 5, you can devastate. It also does a lot more damage (thus causing more threat) on a sundered target anyway.
