Q u o t e: I play the game quite a bit actually and in Shattered Halls one renew, rejuvenation, or dps spell hasn't been the deciding factor on a wipe. I haven't played it on the PTR, but in the gauntlet hallway if the healer isn't ready for us to grab the next pack, we communicate this, pull to the sides, and decide to wait for the next pair of reinforcements to come to us. This gives all of the casters a good chunk of time to drink and from there we can push through several more mobs in a row.
This is actually untrue since the last patch. If you go into the gauntlet the guys at the end of the hallway are firing arrows at you continually and this makes you count as if someone is 'attacking' you. Therefore your character will never sit to get more than one tick of mana at a time. When the change from the PTR happens that means instead of getting even one tick of mana, you'll get some tiny amount. I already run out of mana heading down the gauntlet, so I can imagine that the drinking change will make it even more of a PITA.

Understood? Because if not and you think this will have anything other than an insignificant effect, you're terrible.
You're DPS.
It's very different from a tank or healer perspective.
There are many times where you only get one or two ticks of mana, and those can be vital for a tank or healer.
Many people have pointed out the problems with it from a tank/healer perspective. You're terrible if you can't see how this is anything but a nerf, not just to pvp, but to pve too.
I really hope I'm misunderstanding this. So once my raid party is out of combat and every caster starts to drink there is a 5 sec delay? I can't imagine how this will slow down raids not to mention tough 5 mans that every sec counts.
Please tell me I've read this wrong.
You haven't read it wrong, but we've decided to have that rule only apply inside arenas. It's an inconsistency, but one we're ok with to prevent water from feeling unnecessarily weird everywhere else.
