Q u o t e:
Guys just remember not to flame the messengers.

Hey Drysc, could you relay a message upstairs from me please? Don't tell them a shaman sent you or youll get turned around.

But when you pass by a developer in the hallway or something, just show them your middle finger and tell them it came from us.

Every time the CMs want us to take them seriously, they remind us that they are part of the developement team.

Every time the CMs start taking flak for being part of the development team, players remind us that they are "messengers."

So, which is it?

Q u o t e:
$5 says they're just waiting to list the "more dramatic" changes until closer to patch day so they don't have listen to you biatches qq for up to 90 days during testing, or they could just stealth nerf everything at the last minute.

This.

I suspect one of two things will happen:

One. PvP related changes have been withheld initially so they can be added throughout the testing phase to demonstrate how much Blizzard listens and cares.

Two. The patch carries over to Live in much the same state it is currently in; "See You In WoTLK" posts abound.

Kalgan caused a mess of publicity leading up to Blizzcast. It was totally devoid of all info. The only PvP changes I anticipate at this time are more shaman nerfs.

Q u o t e:
Hey Drysc,

Honestly, you do a great job. Thanks for being here and doing your best.

It's not you, or some interview. I just think that much of the player base right now sees the game one way, and the devs see it another. Arena is big! Blizzard made it big. That's great. But it puts so much focus on PvP, and since players bought into it, they're concerned with PvP. I think the disappointment comes from the complete lack of anything having to do with what were blatantly obvious problems in PvP not being addressed at all.

I know Shaman were very hopeful that the patch would help them. Speaking as a Mage though, i just can't even believe there's... nothing! Nothing at all. I took all the fake patch notes with a grain of salt. Yet even i hoped for some help with pushback in the Frost tree, or a little help in some form for what feels like a forgotten class.

I know sometimes when patch notes are released, there's a lot of complaining, but this feels different.

By the time this patch comes out, and another possible one after that.... who knows how long we'll still be playing with the problems that players were REALLY concerned about.

I mean, fixing the interface, combat log junk, guild bank changes, hell even the entire Sunwell... I'd trade it all for a pushback resist talent in Frost. I guess that sort of thing is why so many feel let down.

Respectfullly.

The compliments are unnecessary, but thanks for at least talking to me like I'm a person. It's appreciated.

I didn't mean to give the impression (by showing why people's expectations were unfounded) that 2.4 will not include class changes. I was merely trying to understand why there was such an expectation, and then after figuring it out share with people where the disconnect lay. It obviously lay with fan sites reporting misquoted translations. That's just too many muddy hurdles for information to cross, in my opinion, and end up clean on the other side.

I didn't mean to give that impression because we're taking a different tactic in 2.4 than in previous point releases. Usually, a point release comes out, and that would be 2.2.0, 2.3.0, 2.4.0, etc. The large patches inbetween expansions. Usually those come out with a large amount of class changes, POW, lots of stuff, and throughout the PTR... those changes start to disappear, they start to turn into something else, and by the end of the PTR usually the class changes are half removed or half altered to the state of being unrecognizable from the original patch notes. Not exactly satisfying, and it really just stirs things up too much, too unnecessarily. The PTR process on these patches is very long, and over the course of the weeks or months (!) they last our minds change, our ideas change, and making huge changes out of the gate doesn't seem as appealing.

So, anyway, with 2.4 we're moving in a different direction, starting small, and working our way through the PTR with changes in-mind, but not a huge glut of changes we throw out at the start.

Kind of a tease I suppose, everyone wants to see crazy changes and yell and pull hair, but we weren't happy with that approach. It's a more subdued approach, and it's sure to put focus on specific changes as they go in one or a few at a time. We'll see how it works out, hopefully it's for the best.

Still though, heh, just to manage some expectation, there's no huge amount of sweeping changes announced, we're going to make changes we feel are able and necessary to be implemented at this time.

Oh, and when I said "enjoy your weekend", I meant it just the way it is. You guys read too much into things. :)

I'm glad to see the Devs are finally listening to Hortus about this.

So..yeah....how about you buff mages so they're not useless in PVE? You already nerfed them every single patch, and even in 2.4.

Lol lol... Can this get any better?

Oh we are going to put more and more stuff into the PTR as time goes o for patch 2.4... but don't expect a lot of stuff...

Say anything to get out of the hot water. I'm basically done with this it's simply a waste of time. I'll sleep on if I'm going to go through with canceling this game or not. At this point I'm 90% sure I'm done.

Thank you for the update. If we got updates like this on a kinda-sorta-halfway-semi-regularish basis, then maybe there wouldn't be so much constant uproar.

Yea, I know, you've read that before. Hmmmmm. I wonder why it's still necessary to write it, yet again.

Anyway, have a nice weekend. But really, it would be good if someone could convey the message to the devs that PvP needs serious work.

Again, thanx.

I don't PvP much so Im probably wrong but tbh it's such a small change you can't even really consider it a nerf. :|

This is... well, sad.

I dont know, maybe the sunwell will make me feel like stepping out and doing something other than pvp for once.

Next to zero pvp changes, when it's apparent some are desperately necessary.

Not even a half hearted warsong clone, or new arena.

As time passes, I find less and less reason to log on, much to the dismay of my arena partners, though even they are barely on anymore.

This patch does little to address this; and I'm not sure if I even want to keep paying for this any longer.

With that said, Im actually happy with my class now. Shadowstep is a lot of fun, while it could use a few minor changes to bring it up to par; I'm essentially happier then I thought I would be with it. Gives me options, and with proper timing one can do some great things. The combat is still fun, but there's just little to do.

No reason to leave shatt, no reason to even do pvp dailies; which are tedious anyway. I'd much rather be playing another game.

I hope, that for this game's sake, more's added to this. I really liked this game. I liked it back when I first entered scarlet monestary with 4 friends, I liked it when I killed nef in blackwing lair, I liked it when I acted as a guest on a cthun run, I liked how bgs used to be, but now? It's a shadow of it's former self; and it's pathetic. Who's running this game now? Has the dev team changed?

lolwut?

Casuals aren't going anywhere near BT. If they try they'll be wiping on trash, but nothing more.

And $150,000,000 a month? I wasn't aware Bill Gates was a Blizzard employee.

15$ per month X 10,000,000 subscribers = ???
