I was just chatting on it here in the latest internal build. I think we would have some very dis-satisfied Mac players if we didn't have this working cross platform.

the old style headsets will work but just remeber the mic's in macs arnt normally compaitible with the macs but usb works fine infact if you need a new one mac or pc get a usb one since most computers have 4+usb slots if its a pc or 2+ on the mac then another two on the keyboard then if you have a cinema display another 2 usb slots and they plug in any mod computer

I'd imagine that if your Mac can see your Mic and use it, WoW wont have a problem, whether it be USB, Bluetooth, standard audio, or whatever.

I can clarify a bit; we want to head off the situation where a lot of people buy an analog headset with a passive mic and find that it doesn't yield sufficient signal via the Mac analog input (microphone jack).
If you already have an analog headset and it is plugged in and working fine (by iMic or other means) then it should work fine.

Voice comm really annoys me usually [It's just another one of my senses for stupid people in-game to abuse...], I was really crossing my fingers that it wouldn't make it into the mac client :-)

I really hate reading a post 4 times, disecting its run on sentences, and still not understanding.
Thank you for implementing this though. As I see, it is not currently enabled on the PTR. I'll be keeping an eye out on those forums to see when it goes up. At its current stage, is there an ability to see who in your party is currently talking, or has PTT enabled?
When you are LFM Heals/Tank then you are LFG. We are the group, you are the "more".
I didn't really find this on the things being worked on in the 2.2 patch, but will people with the integrated chat:
• have separate chat "rooms" when in a group for quests/raids/instances?
* will we be able to hear everyone in a "public" area when running around different cities?
* will it cause a lot of lag?
I was just wondering, because the general "typing" chatting channels now can get full of spam, and I didn't want to hear tons of people screaming in my ear when I didn't have to.
I like men, steak and chocolate ice cream.
But, I LOVE FIRE.

Not to mention that if you plug into the analog headphone jack, you lose audio output from your Mac's built-in speakers (or Apple Pro Speakers on the few Macs that had them)... the speakers and the headphone jack count as a single "audio device", so you won't be able to take advantage of the feature where your game sound is on one device and your voice chat on another.
(And isn't there an issue with Mac analog mic jacks using some bizzare miniplug variant that looks almost like what everything else uses but isn't really compatible? Last I paid attention to that port was years ago, dunno if they ever changed that.)
I've been using my FW iSight in Vent and TS. It works fine though I have to raise the gain a bit (I tend to be a quiet speaker). Here's hoping it works with the built-in chat!
