Blizzard needs to add Hardware Cursor Support for OpenGL. I play in OpenGL mode because the performance is so much better than D3D. It's not too much to ask for to have hardware cursor support in OpenGL. Mac's use OpenGL and they have Hardware Cursor support. Shouldn't take much to implement it in windows.

Theres two ways you can play WOW in D3D or OpenGL Mode they are graphics settings. If you play in D3D mode you have hardware cursor support for the mouse and slower performance i.e slower FPS. If you play in OpenGL mode you have better FPS but no hardware cursor support i.e sluggish mouse cursor. But the Macs use OpenGL and they have hardware cursor support. So it shouldnt be to hard to implement it for OpenGL in WIndows.

Open GL is a troubleshooting step and helps you discern issues in your system. the game really isn't supposed to be played that way. what kind og FPS are you seeing? disabling vertical sync in game will usually ramp up your cards FPS... however if you are running a system thats on the lower end of the spectrum to begin with... its not blizzards responsibility to have your system run better its yours.
if you are whining over 56-60 FPS get over yourself and try un enabling the vert sync.
the reason MACS run open GL is because they are macs you cant compare the two... MACs also don't have a repair option for wow which means if your game borks... reinstall time...
SO what kind of FPS are you running and what kind of system? im a lil more than curious.

No, OpenGL is NOT for troubleshooting your system, it is an ACTUAL graphics mode. My system is not on the lower end of the spectrum i have an Nvidia 6600 GTS video card, 2.4 Ghz processor and 1 Gig of Ram. The reason macs use OpenGL is because Macs cant utilize or run Microsoft's D3D (DirectX) which only works on windows based systems. And you are right about one thing the two do not compare as Macs are way better. It really sucks when someone that doesn't know what they are talking about responds to a suggestion in the suggestion forums. Come on Blizzard Hardware Cursor Support is needed for OpenGL mode.

*Bump* Hardware Cursor Support Needed for OpenGL.......gets very frustrating having a sluggish cursor.....won't and will not play in D3D (DirectX) Mode.

is this about OpenGL or about your small size and having a MAC / PC debate? If it's the latter, you may wanna do some research on the newer technologies. If it's the former, then:

It doesn't really affect me since I am running an 8800GTX OC, but I think it's a good idea.

I'll ignore your Smart*** comments. This is about OpenGL and not a PC/MAC debate. All i said was that Mac's use OpenGL and they have Hardware Cursor Support and it shouldn't be too hard to implement in windows. The other guy is the one that tried to turn this into a debate. And im glad to hear it doesn't affect you. You have a good day.

/signed, as a linux user with a great rig (60-70fps), I'd completely love you Blizz if you allowed us OpenGL users to check that little Hardware Mouse box. :)

Wow, dude. Piss off then. I was agreeing with you and was asking you a question. Forget it. I retract my signature since it doesn't affect me either way.
