I use a couple of macros for various things (which, for brevity, will be posted without showtooltip or show lines).
/use [outdoors] (insert mount name here)
/cast [combat] vanish; stealth
I use this macro because I'm simply too lazy to reach over and click my mount, so this mounts me if I'm outdoors and stationary, stealths me if I'm out of combat and moving (or indoors), or casts vanish if I'm under fire.
I use similar macros too ming for premed openers, but I have a couple of pick pocket lines scripted in for the purpose of getting every item out of auto loot.
Then of course, I have my big, finish that runner that I've been working on for late game pvp, which incorporates deadly throw (so I obviously haven't tested it yet)
/cast deadly throw
/cast throw (optional, if you know you'll have combo points up or can catch the guy)
/cast (melee finisher of your choice, possibly a castsequence if you want to be able to use the key during normal grind fights, ex. expose armor, eviscerate, eviscerate, eviscerate)
Because of the distance requirements on dt and normal ranged weapons, if you are in close range, the macro should skip over those lines with a possible error message and access the close range finisher line of script. Useful for people who want a minimum of keybound buttons.
Thanks for the macros - I think I'll incorporate the prep one, and the vanish one.
On the above macro, what is the advantage - it seems there will be opportunities to go back into stealth, but /startattack autoattacks putting you back into combat?

Thanks for the macros ming, but I have a question about weapon swapping. I generally don't know where to start. From guessing I would put your first macro as my shiv button but what should I keybind to switch back to my main OH?

That's only saying that your not right up on your target as you try to stealth.

THats his macro for the main attack on his number '2' key. So when he restealths, the number '2' key becomes the premed/CS macro key (and not startattack) which has a stopattack clause in it too btw.
Thanks a bunch for the macro's and more importantly the insight and imagination of how to cleverly use them in many cases Ming. Helps an old rogue whose coming back to the game with everyone suddenly shadowstepping around. lol.
With everything that ppl say, you seem to be willing to share your knowledge gleaned from hrs and hrs of gaming without hesitation and thats saying a lot. Makes us all better rogues or at least gives everyone ideas to come up with their own thing really. Thanks again bud
