I don't report people AFK anymore because my Turing Test mod does it automatically for me.

I probably get a bunch of people who just haven't seen combat yet, as well.

/shrug. I don't care. They have plenty of time to engage.

Q u o t e:

What is circumventing getting marked afk? Being at your keyboard, as in not being afk, right? What has this person circumvented that you haven't? By your definition can I report players in wsg that never pay attention to the flag and just kill in the middle? What about Ret paladins I have the displeasure of grouping with? They're not participating or "non-participating".

This is already in place on a 5 minute timer.

Just because you're not afk doesn't make you immune to being reported as afk or even getting the debuff. What keeps me from just deciding I don't like you after you've cleared the alliance out of the aid station and getting you banned?

Obviously one that 5 min time is full of it I been in AV and AB where it can be 8+ afkers form the same bgs after 20+ so thats a fail

Again you didnt read it correct if you have a "History" that means reported from players multiple times, and as a AFKer you honor kill history most likely < 500 kills, also last 4-5 months of bgs I been watching is that an average afk sits in the same spot in AV the cave, AB the house or behind, in WSG the GY or exploited wall climbing safe area, in EoS zone in.

Now I have seen clever AFKer bots where they put as they jump once in a while or move around in a circle, triangle, or square area away form where alliance or horde normally run around. Some I seen where they automatically run to tower and sit there allowing wither faction to tag tower this is the same for AB flags and I seen some where they send them mines and just die rez and then sit in the cave. Some I have seen jsut sit there and do the same emote or same /say

Cmon it snot that hard to spot a Afker or BoT

OMG!! i seriously doubt anyone is going to get banned for going to the bathroom so drop it. If someone is constantly at the bottom of the list with no kills or deaths ,its a little bit obvious whats going on. some av's run up to an hour. if you think your going to be gone that long you need to leave.

If you're using my word as definition, then you conveniently left out the part about standing at the spawnpoint. Midfield is not the spawn point. Standing at the spawn point doing nothing means you are not participating in the game. You are not helping other players, you are not trying to capture objectives. , and you are not engaging with the opposing team. However, it is not my definition you should be worried about, but Blizzard's.

All I can say to you is enjoy your ban when you get caught. I'm glad scrubs like you will no longer be infesting my battlegrounds.

I can give anyone I want "History" of afk'ing just because I decide his shoes look stupid. Doesn't mean he was afk. If someone has the misfortune of being reported by several a$%hats like me he deserves to be suspended? I know "Blizzard will look into it before making a ban" but they can do that without sifting through false alarms by report griefers like me.
Let's see. 5 afk debuffs made by illogical onto Ashrik, which were quickly removed since he was participating in combat. Who then went on to falsely report 10 other people in the span of an hour. DURDURDUR BANBANBAN. I think the problem here is that when Blizzard said they would "investigate every claim" you read it as "we will immediately ban every claim because we're stupid".

See, there's a subtle difference.

I think you misunderstand. Flagging them as AFK will just tag them to be investigated by Blizzard. They have records of what players are doing, so they will be able to discern for themselves if that player is being a non-participant or not. They are very likely to only ban excessive repeat offenders.

If you want an RL analogy, it's like you see a drunk driver swerving around the highway and call 911 on them. If the cops come out and either can't find the driver, or determines that they're not drunk (and aren't driving recklessly), they're not going to be put in jail.

Non-participation ruins the BG experience for active players. Do your part and report anyone you feel isn't participating (standing still in the cave hitting spacebar).

As long reporting someone for afk meant they just missed out on honor I thought it was fair enough and went ahead and reported. Now that reporting someone for afk means I will be putting that person at risk of being suspended or banned I can't do it with a clear conscience.

Who am I judge why that person is afk? Maybe he had to go to the bathroom, pick up the phone or get the door. Under those circumstances I don't mind seeing them being reporting for afk and losing their honor. I don't, however, feel that I have the right to tell someone they can't go to the bathroom without their account being suspended.

Its one game. One game won't ruin somebody’s life.

Do you work? Do you go to school? (Not college, because college doesn't care what or what you don’t' do with your money)

What happens if you show up late to work/school once or twice a month? Nothing really. A small warning maybe - if even (unless you are Military - heh.. 200 push up punishment sucks...)

What happens if you show up late for work/school every day for 2+ weeks straight? You may get fired/suspended. A very serious deal.

See the difference - a pattern.

If the pattern of AFK's is once per say .. 20 games. It won't even register to blizzard. But if your pattern is hundred of AFK reports in a day... then yes, blizzard is going to take notice and only then... MAY take action.

I'm pointing out every AFK'er I come across, and informing those who don't think it does anything of Blizzard's new policy.

So yeah, don't report the AFK ones, hordelings. We'll enjoy our instant queues and laughably lopsided games since half your team will be leeching off you.

I can assure you that if someone is going to be suspended, and have other actions taken against their account/character, that they are definitive abusers.

If someone is going to the bathroom 30 times a game, 100 games in a row, they may want to cut down on the cranberry juice.

(Of course, those are numbers I made up. We obviously won't be announcing thresholds, etc.)

Except that you can't. You don't seem to know how the AFK Reporting system works. Go educate yourself a little, so you arguments won't be so, ahem, ILLOGICAL.
