Was there a stealth nerf about an hour ago so that warlocks can't summon ppl in AV? I mean from one part of AV to another.

If so, why? because horde actually won a game using that strategy?

Btw, remove healthstones too..I find those usefull sometimes

No, it says "you can't use that here" now

Before it would happily let you summon

I used it to help take towers and such...or to take the alli aid station sometimes, since horde have to cross that horrible bridge.

Oh well, now alli win 100% av instead of 99%.

Does nobody care about this because it affects warlocks or because horde were using it to actually win AV?

bump, can others confirm? I have only had 2 ppl confirm that you can no longer summon ppl in bgs....blue response pls?

Its fine, I will just join the ranks of horde who hang around the cave.

The ability to summon in AV was huge for me. I would plan routes that woudl secretly get me in a good position on the map and then summon horde to help me take an objective.

Now I have found a good position in the cave.

The reason for the change is that it was being used to exploit battleground mechanics, most notably flag captures. We realize that its use in Alterac Valley was useful as the battleground is much larger in size, and it was with much disappointment that we had to make the change to keep players from exploiting its use in other battlegrounds. At current the rules extend through all battlegrounds which we find also helps maintain a consistency of rules and mechanics, but we will be watching the impact of the change.

I think we learned some important lessons from this thread.
1. If you cant keep up in raids you suck.
2. If you do well in raids the other dps sucks.
3. When in doubt, blame warlocks.

This nerf not only affects warlocks, but also those that use the warlock summons in AV to their advantage.

AV is a fairly large battleground, and it can take awhile to get from one end to the other. Warlock summons were invaluable to get people onto the offensive and past the defenders. It's not cheating, it's an effective use of tactics.

Not that I pvp any more but sneaking past and being able to summon was a valid strat for turning the tables. Now if you're losing you may as well just lose. Actually - you may as well just not play because it's just fricken boring.

They seem to nerf it on and off. It was possible to summon initially, then they made it impossible ages ago. Then I guess it became possible again, and now they've re-nerfed it for all BGs.

Drysc, if you're there it'd be nice if we could hear why that change was made so we had some understanding of it (instead of just "well I guess Blizzard did it because they hate us" which seems to be what people are taking from it as it stands).

So, what, have you decided you don't want fancy things like "Fighting" and "Tactics" in AV, and WANT everyone jumping ever 4 minutes in the tunnel? Or are you just trying to totally kill off AV to get everyone into arenas?

It's not a warlock nerf butt munch, it's an AV nerf.

We used to use warlocks all the damn time. If there werent enough on offence, or some offence got cut off from RH we'd summon them up.
