This incarnation of the thread has been discontinued in favor of a more reader-friendly format. Please visit http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=1777875118&sid=1 for new updates!

Schwick has also updated his regular postings with a new list of upcoming and speculative changes! See the link on #1 - more info on the new expansion and whatnot...

I don't know how many of us take a jaunt over to the European forums, but sometimes I can find some supplemental information over there. I thought I'd share with everyone that hasn't had the chance to peruse their forums.

Note: All linked posts are by the MVP of the European forums, Schwick, and I claim no authorship whatsoever. These posts have all been stickied on their forums.

#1 & 2 Updated (9/19)

1. http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=612142635&sid=1
Contains information, both supported and speculative, about current and future changes to the game, including, but not limited to: class changes, battlegrounds, dungeons, professions, UI, and speculations about upcoming patches. Great stuff here, factual info always linked to sources...

2. http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=771510404&sid=1

Schwick's ongoing Warcraft Weekly. Just wanted to point this one out as the most recent example. Note: info on Richard Knaak, bag space, and more on the to-do list (yee-ha), plus some good interviews

3. http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=301911575&sid=1
A special addition to Schwick's weekly musings, this one also contains developer notes. A good read :)

9/19 Updates
1.6.3 - The changes to Dustwallow Marsh (i.e. quests, goblin town, as mentioned below - 9/05) can be expected in patch 2.3
1.7.3 - more titles and - hopefully - surnames for characters are on the to-do list

Added (9/19)
1.2.11 - Blizzard is planning on making the HP/mana/energy regenerate for pets (warlock/hunter) during mounting. Do note these are just plans and no ETA has been given or that it will come at all. Along side that, Blizzard is also looking into making Hunters’ pets level up faster.
1.4.7 - Bigger bags? It’s possible it will come in the future, however, other space and storage increases than bigger bags themselves are in the works. This change will come before the expansion.

9/10 Updates
1.6.6 - Alterac Mountains' and Arathi Highlands' elite quests will turn in to regular quests to make it easier to level up in those zones. There are no plans to change quest rewards or changes like learning spell costs. These changes will not affect L60-70. This change will come after content patch 2.2.
Other - minor updates made to Schwick's page, but nothing you haven't seen here already!
Free damage for healers - The plan is for a percentage of the +heal stat on items with pure +heal to be added as +spell damage, for no extra cost.

9/05 Updates
1.2.4 - Hunters: The PvP Arena performance is being looked at and changes will go live in 2.3. Chances are Hunters will get a Mortal Strike-like shot to increase PvP performance (nothing solid yet though). Hunters’ Mana usage is also being looked at.

1.3.3 - Sunwell Lore: Apparently the lore fits right in with TBC and the upcoming expansion WLK. The Sunwell Plateau is Blizzard’s answer to the ending of TBC. The Blood Elves are leeching energy from the Netherstorm in Outland and are trying to harness its energy to power the sunwell and resurrect Kil’Jaden. This instance will introduce six to eight bosses. Both dungeons will come after Zul’Aman (after 2.3) and before WLK.

1.5.3 - UI changes (more in-depth): Yes, the UI will get some very nice features. First off it will introduce an itemrack/Outfitter like feature. Basically it will allow you to easily swap gear compilations. However, it’s just not that; it will also introduce storage for those items. If that’s not enough, you can also expect a Big-wigs/Deadly boss mods like warning system. Last but not least; a built-in threat-meter! If that isn’t enough Blizzard is planning on adding a mass-mail feature.

1.6.3 - Dustwallow Update: Yes, there are plans to revamp some Azeroth places. One of those places that will receive an update is Dustwallow Marsh. There will be more added than new singular quests to Dustwallow Marsh. The new quest-hub will be a Goblin town.

1.6.6 - More on XP gain: Yes, Blizzard will introduce changes that will make leveling easier. This change will be implemented prior to the expansion. The experience required each level will be reduced from level 20 until level 60. Along side that, quest XP will be rewarding around 30% more experience (again between level 20 and level 60). If that isn’t enough, various elite quests will turn into non-elite quests.

Added (9/05)
1.4.6 - Woodworking Prof: It’s possible. Blizzard is seriously tossing around ideas for this and it might come in the future.

1.5.4 - Windows may get a recording option.

8/16 Updates
1.2.5 - (Shaman) Totems will get stronger to be able to compete with auras. There’s a good chance Shamans will lose the talent to carry Two-Handed Axes and Maces. Instead they can learn this from the weapon-masters.
1.3.13 - Season 3 Arena: Season 1 gear will become available for honour points instead of Arena points (around 15K per piece). A new melee will be added specially for Hunters since they need to spend more points then any other class. Season 3 will start around or after patch 2.3.

8/10 Updates
1.2 - More talent/class updates
1.4.1 - Profession Changes:
* Alchemist exclusive (bop) potions coming
* Enchanting: Item-based enchants (see 1.4.5)
* The gap between skill profession 275 to 300 gaps will be smoother
1.4.3 - Blizzard will add new Heroic Tokens items in the Zul’Aman patch. Also distribution of Heroic Tokens will also happen in Zul’Aman and Karazhan.

Added Sections (8/10):
1.3.12: Battleground Changes:
* AV: Respawn locations will be improved
- No honour given to non-participating players (see 1.8.3 for details)
- Queuing as a group
- Honor distribution will change (the more you capture the better the honour)
- Pulling mechanism will change to prevent exploits.
* General: Pick the size of a certain battleground
- Plans to introduce Siege Weapons to old battlegrounds (the above two are being talked about only)
1.3.13: Season 3 Arena: Blizzard is thinking about capping season 3 weapons for a minimum rating. For example you would need a rating of 1900 to be able to buy specific items. Paladins will get resilience on their season 3 gear. Season 1 gear will become available for honour points instead of Arena points. A new melee will be added specially for Hunters since they need to spend more points then any other class.
1.4.5: Item-based enchants being considered for enchanting, just not for high-level enchants
1.5.2: Combat Log: In 2.4 the combat-log will be adjusted. Names, spells, event etc will be coloured. The combat-log will no longer send a single text but an event. It will even introduce easier filtering on the fly. Last but not least you can have a full event history.
1.6.8: New Burning Legion lore will be added in a future patch

Note: Information on the next expansion can either be found on Schwick's page (Chapter 4) or on my own thread: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=1777869906&sid=1

Thanks for the linkage from Europe, Schwick! And for all your efforts!

That's all for now. Will update when more info becomes available.

Please request a sticky if you think this is worthy :)
(select the 'report' icon at the top right, then select the 'sticky request' in the drop-down menu)

- Cheers!

Glad you enjoyed it. Schwick has a tendency to update the top link every week or so, keeping the information as relevant as possible. One of the 'new' pieces of info I got is that the guild banks won't be implemented until after 2.2 (or so the current info states).

Makes me a little sad, since my alt was looking forward to that :(

What the hell? They didn't say anything about Stalingrad or the Eastern Front?!

Good one. I go there now and then.

Seems that all the mods do here is police books and movie reports, make up dumb songs, or laugh at retarded jokes.

One needs to go over to the test forum to see any if anything is really happening.

I''ve worked in Europe. Volunteer or paid, workers there are dedicated.

Because they would get blamed for being brown noses and asked to STFU and put the information deep where the sun don't shine. Funny enough, it's the same thing they would tell any CM posting outside these forum.

Trolls do it with their Alts

Elliot Stabler could take Chuck Norris with one hand tied behind his back.

Yay for more pet abilities! I know this has been mentioned several times, but it's nice to see that it's still "in the works". Looks like all classes will be examined for arena viability, too (5v5, spec.)

If anything new floats down the pike, I'll post later next week...

:( Still no dance animation for aquatic...

...game-breaking, I know...

Completely understandable.

Hopefully, I'll be updating this thread weekly, as new information becomes available. If you'd like to also post info, I'd be more than happy for the assist. The more, the merrier :)

It would help if people over here didn't treat our CMs like trash...

While I agree with this statement, I'd hope it is unrelated to the lack of information from our CMs. It would be pretty sad if they didn't share information because someone was mean to them on the interweb.
