I know why the former was chosen, and I agree with the choice. But I think the latter would be cool for those willing to "sacrifice" a high-level character.

Thats just asking for trouble on thier end as you sacrifice your guy, decide, "Hey, i dont like this class, i want my shaman/rogue/warlock back!" Then go and bug the hell out of blizzard to fix your mistake for you, or leave everyone pissed off.

I would be in favor of this...Not that groundbreaking.

There are 2893548901275091278 billion people that have level 70's they do not use and will never use. It would be an easy choice for them.

Each account has 30 character slots total, with a max of 10 per server...you should still have one slot avail...

On a side note, after lvling my warrior to 70, i hated tanking with him, i use 3-4 abilities and thats it, it gets really boring, i probably would sacrifice him to become more of a dps class. In the mean time while i wait, i plan on lvling my pally further to take the place of my warrior as my own tank.

Heya Big B,
As mentioned by myself to Neth on a couple of occasions in the past, I plan on ustilising all 10 of my current characters on my main realm. I think it was Neth who said there were no plans to increase the pre-realm toon cap. I cannot see how your statement above matches with the 'no new slots' for those who have max'd toons on a realm. Will this mean if we want to continue our current RP we'll be totally incapable of participating with a DK? I think a few of us are seeking confirmation or clarification that we won't need to delete a toon to have a DK. The earlier you can get this info to us, the better, as some of us may not bother playing a toon that's going to have to be deleted, etc. Or maybe I've just missed something entirely and this post is pointless.

Didn't the OP suggest to give players a choice so that the player coul ddecide to do either one. I assume that the additional complexity isnt something that Blizzard wants to deal with but I dont see any "forcing issue" in the OP's proposal...
