Wow, anyone else not exactly looking forward to being punished for getting new gear?

I propose mages at level 70 should all cap at 300 spell damage so no other mages can outshine lesser geared mages! warlocks too!

You aren't being punished for getting new gear. Infact, getting new gear will help your rage numbers go up, as the epics that made warriors IMBA in live will start to decay. Replace your gear to get more rage.

New movie detailing rage generation from an euro warrio so you can look and see for yourself:
her post:

Q u o t e:

I have made this to show guildies how is the rage generation in TBC and thought I should show you.

It doesn't show heavy maths, if some want to do it I would be glad (maybe you will need more than that).

http://files.filefront.com/Rageavi/;6164902;;/fileinfo.html (quite nice quality)
Stream (poor quality):
http://video.google.fr/videoplay?docid=5907104991577997029&hl=fr

I tested with both 1K ap stuff and 500ap, both with 1H and 2H weapons. Its purpose is to show how we were nerfed and everything is about crits which got a big kick in the butt. I saw Crits at 500dmg giving less rage than normal hits at 500, I mean wtf ? why ?
This is by nowhere a normalisation. It would mean weak stuffed warriors make more rage than in 1.12 and ubergeared less. Everybody will get less rage in TBC, and less rage means less dps. Ubergeared people feels it more because what they lost is bigger (-X% of 100 > -X% of 10).
I see no real difference with normal hits at 1Kpa, I see a slight increase at 500pa (but still a nerf on crits...the more I think about this sentence the more I think it's freaking stupid). You might see a decrease around 1500ap for normal hits.
Flurry makes you generate less rage. Who is the moron who made such a formula...

Less dps will mean Blue geared will be weaker... I can't see who this is helping; it is stupid really.

An addon is a big patch, it diserved a big warrior nerf.

P.S : I have same talents on both servers.

Edit : I feel just sad. Don't want to talk %#!* to blizz anymore just sit and cry.

Q u o t e:
...So, anyone doing more than 65 dps ( (weapon dps + AP/14)*(1+crit) ) at level 60 will be nerfed, and everyone doing less will be buffed.

For reference, here is a profile of someone with 70 dps, who will have his rage generation nerfed:
http://ctprofiles.net/4225116
Is that guy really so overpowered?...

I guess I'll just cut to the chase on this one. We tested rage generation with the gear listed in the profile you provided.

Against a target with a standard armor value, his rage generation was 4.93 per hit on average without normalization, and 6.97 per hit with rage normalization.

So, his rage generation went up by about 41%. Are you sure your data is accurate?

We can only do so much without the actual formula. We can only assume and make asses out of ourselves.

Kalgan,
what about the crit rating (i.e. the nerf) impacting on rage generation as well?
doesn't it stack with rage 'normalisation'?
I mean your example sounds good but isn't that without crits?
So we'd be used to getting more rage from crits and now we lose that - so your tests are not so representative.

Do one with the new crit rating and compare with existing... or tell us you already did ;)

hehe that guy is not the average warrior. For guys like him it is a buff. For guys like me (can't log on main) it is a nerf whether required or not it is still a nerf. I understand the mechanics of it. I will just resign myself to being underpowered until I have spent 4 months raiding, acquire the gear needed to be effective again and then wait for the next nerf.

Q u o t e:
Time for some reverse engineering of math.

Damage range for that profile is 237-269. An average of 253 damage per hit. 4.93 rage per hit, at 30 damage per rage, is 147.9 damage. Thats around 58% DR from armor.

Now for the normalization scale, of 6.97 per hit.

Hmm.. actually, wtihout a second example, I don't think I can extroplate much more.

When I grow up, I want to be just like you! Friend.

I hate to hijack a thread like this, but Kalgan, would you mind take some time to address some of the concerns/suggestions in Paladin forums?

We'd really appreciate it.
