On my 70 main I've been seeing a lot of premade groups in AV. Now I know how they are doing it but before I run out and do an AV premade of my own I want to be sure it isn't an exploit.

So uh... are AV premades an exploit?

No, you and 39 of your friends just happened to press the queue button at the same time. :D

I had something profound to put here, but I got angry and forgot it.

It's not an exploit, technically they're doing nothing wrong.

Except they are.

Or are they?

yeah, I don't see how using voice communication whether it be third party or WoW's in game solution is an exploit. There are potentially ways to prevent it, but I think it might increase queue times.

As far as the AV Preform Enabler mod, I am unsure if that goes against the EULA, or may be considered an exploit.

Considering Blizzard put voice chat into the game and you can use in-game voice chat or other voice chat programs to synch queueing... not an exploit. Just gather up some friends of your own and have an old-school epic AV match of premade v premade!

I know there was some mod a while back that would silmutaniously queue everyone at once, for a chance to have a premade type group.

It's definitely not an exploit to enter the queue at the same time using Voice Chat or another communication method.

How about the use of mods to help coordinate the process?

no they arent. we used to do this pre-TBC when horde got killed all the time in av so that we could be able to win. it was pretty effective too.

only banned addons are ones that allow you to talk cross faction wise.

Incorrect. Decursive was too.

I remember those days, but instead of a mod I used a macro. I wish they hadn't taken that away from us. :P

If your Battlegroup is stormstrike, so few people are queuing up its actually not too hard to pull one together.

This is the equivalent of counting down 3-2-1-0 (which I've been a part of to get 30+ ppl into an AV once).

That mod doesn't do anything other than help you time your queue... doesn't guarantee anything.

No it wasn't. They broke the underlying functionality that made it possible, but the mod itself was never against any rules. If Blizzard doesn't want people using mods to coordinate AV queuing, they will remove the ability to access queuing functions through the UI. Until then, it's fair game.

No it wasn't. The auto targetting was broken with BC, but the addon has been changed and is not illegal. And I doubt that you can prove otherwise, so please stop giving misinformation...

Decursive wasn't banned. There's still a less functional version of it around, but it isn't nearly as easymode as the original decursive was.

Anyway, blizzard really doesn't ban addons that they don't like. They just change the client functionality to break the addon for good.
