Well first of all, I just want to point out how ridiculous these arena queues are getting to be.

First, it was 2v2's, the times of queues just kept rising as time went on, getting to a max of 16 minutes at one point of the night. I came to the forums to see what's up and found a blue post explaining to play at other times or step up a bracket. So I tried to play at a different time than normal. The queues weren't as bad as 16 minutes but were still pretty long.

Then I decided to step up to 3v3. The long queue times we saw were close to no end and at a max point in the day the 3v3 queues were at 10 minutes. Ten minutes when I was told the queues would be lighter just a bracket up.

What's going on Blizz? This is getting ridiculous now, we just want to know why your not doing a thing about it.

Yea, they should force everyone to not queue up except for you an me, that way we will never have to wait in line.

Have you considered playing Pong?
It may be more on your level.

There are too many people queuing for 2v2s (and Arenas in general), overwhelming the abilities of the Arena-instance servers. The maximum number of createable Arenas is less than the demands. No immediate resolution to this is forthcoming as the devs are waiting to see the broader pictures, outside of the 2.3/S3/holidays playing spike. The other choice, adding in hardware and software support for a noticeably higher number of sustainable instances, carries with it far too many challenges to be undertaken lightly.

I played around 1000 arena matches last season and even the difference between 12 minute queues and 8 minute queues represents a significant amount of time in aggregate.

It's only 66 hours difference if Blizzard doesn't feel like meeting the capacity required by their subscribers--note how this differs from waiting around in queues because there aren't enough people queued up to play.

It's almost like waiting at a "Loading . . ." screen for 15 minutes =/

EXACTLY!

That's what I am basically trying to get at...

Not to mention our rating would progress much more quickly if we saw 1 minute queues...It blows my mind to sit through a 10 minute queue and then lose.

Just think of queue times as equivalent to trash clears for PvE. I mean, in an instance you don't get to go directly from boss to boss. That would be absurd!

But, yeah...queue times suck right now.

I don't think I could have said it any better.

We're definitely aware of the concern and wait times as they stand, and we're looking into what our options are to help. That's a bit vague I know, but the options vary so drastically that all we can say is we're not ignoring it.

They're all trapped in the system. Unbeknownst to them they're trapped with no glass.

As someone who writes software for a living, to me the above boils down to this:

"Our developers are too stupid to create a scalable solution."

Instead of adding hardware/software for more arena instances they added it for ingame voice chat that nobody uses.

How about this? Take some of that billion dollars you have and buy some more servers. If the spike goes down, sell the hardware and bring it back down. I mean come on. I think a company making the kind of money Blizzard is can afford to toss around some cash if it means keeping people happy.

This has nothing to do with code. It's all hardware. Blizzard is being cheap.

How about we just say that you're slow.

This was already a consistent problem for Mondays especially with 2v2. It's not anything new.

2v2 is popular. This is a game we pay Blizzard to play. Blizzard should work on and spend resources on things that are popular. There is no acceptable excuse for the 2v2 queue times and they have been an issue since Arenas were implemented.
