Is it just me, or have the vendors on the boats been removed? The people are still there, but they don't offer any services.

It's not just you. The vendors are no longer offering their wares. Euro forums actually had a blue post about this. Go go, Euro's!

There were some boat spawning issues related to the vendors, so they disabled them for now.

Since when are there vendors on boats/zeps? Boy I need to start leaving Outland every once in a while.

Yeah, I noticed several times that the boat NPCs would just not appear. It seemed to be random. One time they were not there (Exodar), but then when I zoned to Kalimdor they were :P hehe...

I guess they removed them entirely to fix the issue?

Wow, I wasn't expecting such quick responses. Thanks Nethaera, everyone!

What really made me angry was that I had heard about these vendors but I just found myself actually catching a Zepplin I think last night for the first time since they were implemented and I couldn't interface with the machines, I was annoyed. My only Azeroth bound alt had been PVP'ing for the last 3-4 months.

I believe there is a system to report afkers.

I want "boat vendors" in a future expansion, but not as it's defined here. I want Boats as a meaningful mount, perhaps when/if we see the maelstrom... Tides of Darkness ftw.
