These pets are extremely under par in comparison to the normal Warlock pets. Considering that these demons require quests, regents, and in the case of the doomguard, a dead party member, the Doomguard and Infernal need some serious overhauling.

Does Blizz plan to fix them or leave them in the dust?

I think that at lvl 70 there should be some way of making them raid useful, or even permanient pets. They need fixed.

Doomguards are fun. In the AV tunnel waiting for the gates to open.

One of my buddies uses the Infernal on occasion in bg's when we need a diversion or just a bit of time. People tend to target them fairly quickly and then don't pay as much attention to the players. Otherwise, totally useless I think.

The only time a doomguard has ever been useful, is when you enslave the lvl 40ish one in Desolace at roughly the same level on a pvp server...you become god of Desolace as long as you can hold onto it

Also, I still don't see the reasoning behind Blizzard putting enslave demon on dimishing returns. There was that time when there were no diminishing returns on the spell and warlocks were overjoyed. The coolest thing to do was to sac a voidwalker for the regen and then soul link with your summoned infernal. I guess you can do that now again since SL works with enslaved demons once more, but with diminishing returns you're only going to have him for maybe 10 minutes where as before I was able to keep an infernal for 40 minutes as long as I didn't stray to far from his spawn point cause if he broke while too far away from his summon spot he'd evade out and despawn

I rolled a warlock for the Infernal. The opening video where the undead warlock summoned one against that mage made it seem like the coolest class ever. I still love my lock very much, but I'm depressed by the fact that it's expensive, has an hour cooldown and just overall pointless to summon him for only a few moments while he does substandard damage compared to anything else we do.

I'm fairly certain Warlocks in general have more important things to worry about.

Just saying...

We do plan to make improvements for both the Doomguard and Infernal at some point in the future, quite possibly in Wrath of the Lich King.

Suggestions:

♦allow a warlock to refresh the time a doomguard or Infernal is enslaved by feeding them a Soul shard every 5-10 min (kinda like how hunters feed their pets)
♦lower to the cooldown on Doomgaurd and Infernal summons to 20 minutes (just like shamans)
♦Increase the BASE duration of Enslave demon to 15 minutes before it breaks (then apply deminishing returns after that)
    ♦Fix Pet scaling..
♦leave Demon corpses out longer so priests can ressurect them

Q u o t e:

Like how? longer durations? Or buffing their damage?

Edit: First

It's hard to say right now. We'd like for warlocks to have a reason to use them in places that just aren't major cities. :P

Yeah, the infernal's a great siegebreaker. I've had great success with it in AV. Drop an Infernal in a crowd of enemy and they all drop target and go after the big green guy. Pushed through the IB chokepoint a few times w/ that technique.

How about giving us a 10 min duration on the enslavement of the infernal and then when the duration ends, it crumbles and dies, as well as making it strong enough to warrant the hour cooldown and reagent?

I've played a warlock since release. I never even bothered to get the Doomguard. I'm not into novelties.

I am a threat machine.

Q u o t e:
How about make warlocks MORE easy mode and just give them one button.

Press it and the opposing player dies. Then warlocks will be happy.

QQ, Warlocks are fine. Warriors, Resto Druids are the new easy mode.

I really hope blizzard make these abilities useful in some fashon. At present they are little more than novelties...like non-combat pets.
