Whatever happened to the promised Ambient form? It was on the WoW "under development" page until WoW came out, then it slowly faded, talk lessened, and now it seems completely forgotten.

You'd have no attack, slowed movement speed, but be smaller, and your name would disappear and be replaced with "Chipmunk - Level 1." Or at least that's what the page said.

The point of ambient form was purely for giggles/fun. If I recall correctly, Druids are supposed to bring "fun and flavor" to the world or some BS like that. Well aside from tasting delicious and arguably being a class dominated by amicable players, why can't I turn into a god damn gopher?

This is serious business. I want my god damn ambient form. I've been waiting for it for 3 god damn years.

I guarantee most of you don't know what I've been through in this class. It's been hell. At first, I had no idea. I was naive. I didn't realize that "Hurricane" for a endgame balance talent & "Improved Pounce" and "Primal Instincts" were awful talents. I was a noob. I was level 10. Everyone was level 10.

But then came the shamans, with their earth shock & purge, and the rogues with their lethality, pre-nerf, and the paladins who'd engage us in epic, thirty minute fights because neither of us could run the other OoM.

Throught it all... from the nerfs, to the buffs, through nerfs again, to more buffs, I have held onto the glory of Ambient Form.

I will not have it robbed from me. Deliver, blizz!

Dude that's what the picture on the development/class info page had, too. A squirrel, and "Ambient Form" for a title. Transforms the Druid into a critter to deceive nearby enemies.

How could Druids not want this?

Oh no, I can see it now. Expansion comes out and every class gets about 6 new spells. While rogues and warlocks are given new and interesting ways to make your insides your outsides, we'll get squirrel form.

LOL I'd love to get ambient form, but knowing blizzard they will make you red not yellow so your still easy to spot and it will take away from a useful spell slot in WotLK so we get double screwed.

Minus being extremely funny and awesome, I would put that thing to use and ambush so many players. That would be my single most fun thing to do in WoW. Now I want to be a squirrel! Lets all petition. Ill give up stupid sea lion form for it

That would just be awesome! I'm very new to the game, and have considered the Feral lack of a unique form discouraging... it's why I respeced not long ago back to Resto.

I agree about make the name yellow instead of red. A red "Squirrel" written would be a dead giveaway to even a lot of noobs who depend on the color of the name to determine aggro.

Edit: I like swim form!
