There's no NDA for closed beta, so if people have specific questions about warlock changes, post them here (thanks to Chrohnos for answering questions)

Some of the most asked questions:

- fear is 1.5 cast still
- howl of terror base cast is 1.5sec (instant with talents)
- as of 10/13/06, pet scaling IS now in for warlocks (details on post 228, page 12)
- base drain range is 30 yards
- polymorph/fear lasts ~ 10 sec in arena (seduce is 5 sec)
- as of 10/12/06, level cap is 67, so level 70 spells havent been tested yet (seed of corruption)
- shadow embrace puts a debuff on the target, adding a affliction bonus to soul siphon (1 point in shadow embrace will do)
- no DS effect for fel guard (yet)
- VW DS has been changed to 2% hp (from 3%), however, it is affected by fel armor

I am interested about any info on the Felguard and pet scaling via master's items.

Yes, definite info on how the pets scale with gear. Like say blue's, do you notice a significant increase in pet survivability or DPS?

Also, Fear. Can you confirm that Fear cast time is being lowered or instant?

Gear. Anyway you can post links for new blue gear or gear other than the Arena sets?

Also what's the average HP for classes in the Beta with their new gear?

--Fear is still 1.5s cast

--Howl of terror is now base 1.5s cast

--Felguard is crap as of now since pet scaling is not yet in for warlocks, but it is for hunters and from what I could tell they were verrrry happy with it. Abilities intercept, frenzy (inc attack speed with each attack), 50% to avoid aoe attacks, cleave (crap damage), and a taunt ability. Don't worry too much about it for now though since they'll probably improve him.

--I don't know how damage was applied for siphon life but it was doing ~130/tick in raid gear + new TBC stuff

--Imp Agony talent appears to be before +dmg, but the new rank does a ton of damage, well worth it if you plan to go full affliction

--Yes the base range is 30 yards and fantastic

--UA gets 100% damage for the dot and NO damage for the dispell portion, but the dispel portion can crit (Your Unstable affliciton crits for 2430 :-D)

--Shadow Embrace is crappy and hard to notice that it's even there, however it adds another affliction effect to the enemy, helping soul siphon.

--I don't know how much dark pact scales, but the rank I was using at level 67 gave about 1100 mana iirc

*does incinerate have a travel time?
*does shadowfury look as awesome as its name implies?
*felguard: ability cooldowns?
*general pet scaling: is it just damage that scales, or will we see increases to bloodpact, fire shield, VW taunts, sacrifice, etc? I am particularly curious about the imp's abilities. To what degree do the spells scale?
*mana cost and base damage of max rank shadowbolt?
*does the exlposion from seed of corruption also damage the target of the initial spell? can it crit?
*can shadowfury crit?
*fel armor: does the 20% affect only spells, or potions, bandages, and healthstones as well? does it increase the health gained from soul leech?

More Q's

--I believe the DS 3%/2% thing was a typo, but blizz never answered us on whether or not it was real nerf or what. Servers are down now so I can't check.

--PvP fights last longer in the since that people don't really get 1 shot, but they can still be very brief.

--Mobs in outland appear to be much more difficult. Priests were complaining that their PW: Shield was not lasting long enough b/c mobs hit harder.

--It looks neat but kinda silly b/c that illidan icon pops up above your head when you cast it lol

*mana cost and base damage of max rank shadowbolt?
--Not certain but it's the same regular increase as the other shadowbolts, I think max damage was ~650 or so. Both unbuffed, SB does about the same damage as incinerate w/ immolate on.

--Fel armor does affect other things, but not bandages or other random things like that. Yes it does work wiht healthstones.

It's a debuff, yes, but I don't know if it works for players other than the warlock b/c the difference is so minute. Primarily it is good to stack with CoW, imp CoW (which brings the reduction to -73 damage), siphon life, drain life, soul siphon, and the new imp drain soul. With this you can finish every mob fight at nearly 100% mana/health.

Soul siphon, not siphon life. Soul siphon is the talent that boosts drain life damage by 5% for every affliction effect on the target.

Could you give say what the base damage of the rank of drain life you have is, how much +shadow dmg gear you have, and how much damage drain life actually dealt to the enemy with say 2, 3, 4 etc affliction effects? It would be easy to calculate then.

130 siphon life ticks are very nice though.

Wow, that's actually a major help to the talent, last we were told it was a buff to yourself that reduced the physical dmg you took by 5%. If it is a debuff on the target then it will be very nice for raids.

I'm not sure for certain where it applies to +dmg gear b/c it was broken until about a week ago so I never got a chance to really test it.

HOWEVER, as an afflicion lock drain life would be doing 250-300 dps, and the highest I ever saw it go was 452, so I would only be worried that it gets nerfed, not that it may be too weak ;-p

I have 700-900 dmg gear, somewhere in there.

I said we weren't sure if it works for other players besides the lock. There were no big raids to test it on so it's difficult to tell with only a 5% decrease.

At 10am today they said it would be down for 24 hours.

How long does seduce and fear last in the arena?

Seduce lasts about 5 seconds, fear lasts about 10, polymorph about 10

The initial cast will proc NP. For 4 seconds you're immune.

Level cap was 67 so couldn't test 70 spells. We don't know how it will work and I don't think blizz has decided either.

Is that 5 abilities? Or 4 abilities and the avoidance being a quality like fire immunity for an Infernal?

What are the mechanics of Frenzy, the Taunt, and Intercept? How crappy is Cleave (dmg and number of targets)?

What's the leveling rate like?
