Q u o t e:

Yes, a handfull of items that were not explicitly hunter-only but were clearly designed as "hunter items" with disproportionately high Agi values are having some of their stats shifted to AP (although they'll still be agi-heavy in general).

So what does this do to those of us who don't raid much and don't have a large amount of high end epics?

I understand that my gear will be replaced in the expansion more rapidly than those who raid more... so can I assume that I will have access to a number of items that will give me back the lost attack power fairly quickly? Or will I be dealing with a substantial reduction in my ranged damage for several levels, until I can get into new Hunter only Tiered gear closer to 70?

Steady Shot does not have a cooldown. The AP scaling on Arcane Shot is 20% of AP.

Awesome.

I posted this already elsewhere, but since you seem to be replying to concerns here, Kalgan I'm reposting this.

First off, I have to say, "Wow" a lot of these talents and spells are just plain amazing.

Now there have been rumors going around that our agility will no longer give us 2 RAP and the amount of agility needed for 1% crit is now much less. If this is true then we would have to look at these talents a bit differently, as many of the survival talents focus on agility, and since it is possibly not as useful anymore, survival would seem a bit mediocre.
For example, for expose weakness to give a better buff than TSA (for 7 seconds) you would need around 500-600 agility, depending on what the final rank of TSA will be. Master tactician seems somewhat underpowered also, as whats the point of getting a chance to crit a tiny bit more for 8 seconds when you can get a straight 10% AP increase.

To me it seems that survival was just thrown a few rejected MM talents at the end there. Survival would do much better with survival type talents at the end, like possibly a melee attack with knockback, or a new trap.

Speaking of melee attacks, have there been any changes made to mongoose bite? As according to Savage Strikes, its still in the game.

As for Hawk Eye, I really think that is a core hunter ability, such as aimed shot, many folks will not be happy happy with the move, considered that BM now seems like a more viable build, and that folks still want aimed shot and Go for the Throat. In my opinion it would be best if it was moved back to MM or just made trainable, as it is a vital hunter ability.

Finally, Aspect of the Viper is a grand ability, but I have one tiny suggestion, lower the % to 10 or 15 and make it an aura type ability like TSA. This small change would make hunters much more wanted in groups over other dps classes.

That is all, thanks for taking the time to read it.

This all makes me a sad druid, in terms of both quality of preview, and quality of dev response. But I have a hunter as well, so perhaps I'll play that more often.

But congratulations, hunters!

Blue.....any word on the leaked pet talent updates that were posted last week?

Is that real?

Also I like just about everything except moving Hawkeye.

Now you make me waste 8 points to get something almost every hunter needs.

Why not just make it a learned talent???

Q u o t e:
Thanks for the release and the two-way communication!

I have a question about the Snake Trap: How does it work?

- Can the snakes be targeted by their victim? If so, are there multiple snakes that must be killed separately?

- Do the snakes just do physical damage, or do they poison etc.?

- How much damage do they do?

- Is there a range on how far the snakes will chase their target?

- Will the victim be able to outrun the snakes?

1. Yes, snakes are mobs that can be targeted. There are 6 to 10 snakes that come out of the trap (oh $h1%, we've got Snakes on a Trap!) and attack random targets within 10 yards of the trap.

2. The snakes do physical damage and apply random poisons (ie: mind numbing, crippling, and a deadly poison).

3. They don't do a lot of damage individually, but in total the damage is meaningful.

4. The snakes will chase the same distance mobs normally chase.

5. The snakes move at normal mob speed (although their victims may be affected by crippling poison).

Question, will silencing and steady shot gain the 6 yard range from hawk eye if you get the talents? i assume it would however there seems to be some speculation amongst other posts i have seen

i could care less with the extra 5 yard range as long as every mob in the game doesnt do an ability that hit everyone 36 yards away. I like the MM talent because my pet can be cranking out serious damage with limitless focus in raids. I crit 1/3 shots he's casting all his new abilites without ever stopping. And if the leaked info on new pets is true they are going to have some nice abilites

They probably went back and did D1 and D2 sets as a split of AP and agil as well. If you're not using set gear then you might have a bit more of a problem.

If you expect to be nerfed into obsolescence then blizzards tendency to not meet your expectations might actually be a good thing.

Q u o t e:
It was stated: "c. Steady Shot has been introduced as a core ability in the expansion, and provides much the same kind of gameplay as Aimed Shot did in the past (a shot you weave in between your normal shots), but to a much more managable degree (since it's a 1.5 sec shot, it doesn't require as slow of a weapon to take advantage of, and doesn't require to stand still for as long)."

100 damage for steady shot with a 1.5 second cast seems pretty weak in damage and a waste of mana, even if the target is dazed it will be for 275 dmg non crit. Are you basically making this the new arcane shot (an abil that is a waste of mana because it does very low damage)? 100 damage + bow damage would be nice. Or is that a misprint and its supposed to be something like 600 damage?

Did you read the discription, 30% of your RAP is added to the damage of steady shot

That's sounds pretty hot. Talk about creative. Snakes on a plane revamped.
