Q u o t e:
Omg!
1. He's answering questions!
2. We've got snakes on this mo%#@ f^@!*&# trap!
3. /delete, /reroll.
4. Fix Steadiness in the talents (reqs only 1 talents in Master Tactician).
5. Lol I'm responding to a blue!
6. What is the normal chance for equal level enemies(60vs.60, 70vs70) to resist effects such as feign death, traps and anything of the sort?
Thanks enormously for the feedback!
6. base resist chance for equal level enemies is 4%

Q u o t e: Yes, a handfull of items that were not explicitly hunter-only but were clearly designed as "hunter items" with disproportionately high Agi values are having some of their stats shifted to AP (although they'll still be agi-heavy in general).
so does this mean the agi willbe converted to just ranged AP, screwing over other classes that use the items for the stats?
244. Re: ATTN: Hunter talents are UP! 10/09/2006 11:50:22 AM PDT
Q u o t e:
COOL! These changes + the fact the new talents suck. I was looking for that final push to reroll as a BE Rogue.
What exactly is so bad about the talents? Hunters were already pretty good, now we have the raid/pet viability we have been asking for. Freaking troll.

Q u o t e:
Hunter has cast Misdirection on Main Healer.
<Main Healer>What the hell is Misdirection?
Hunter has aimed shot crit for 2000.
Hunter has autoshot crit for 1500.
Hunter has Multishot hit for 750.
<Hunter>heh heh heh.

My guild has a dps warr perfect for this. He always seems to chain crit at the worst times. His name is Crimson and hearing 'Crimson down' makes the raid rofl.
So now when I hear 'Crimson, sit out a moment', I will cast it on him and go through a rotation on him.

I have a few questions.
Q u o t e:
Yes, there are several notable changes.
3. Attack Power and Crit related changes:
a. Hunters now get 1 AP per Agility rather than 2. This change helps us provide more interesting stat distributions on hunter items. Previously, Hunters valued Agi significantly above any other stat, such that it was extremely difficult for us to create variety among Hunter items. For example, before this change, we could have spent 1 stat point on an item to give you either 2 AP or 1 Agi (which gave 2 AP along with a small bonus to crit and a small bonus to dodge... clearly the better choice). However, several changes have been made along with this change in order to offset the AP loss.
b. Hunters now get significantly more crit per point of Agility than before (about 33agi/crit at level 60).
c. Hunters now get more dodge per point of Agility than before (about 20agi/dodge at lvl 60).
d. Ranged weapons have had their damage values significantly increased (and consequently the weapon's dps)... this also helps make weapon upgrades feel more meaningful for Hunters than it did previously (along with the other changes, this change is retroactive).
e. Most Hunter equipment has been updated to have a better distribution between +Attack Power bonuses and Agility.
How does the combination of RAP/AGI changes and stat itemization changes affect Hunter damage right out of the box? Will we see a net decrese in damage until BC items start to scale, or does say T3 benefit from this enough to see an increase of damage right off the bat?
Q u o t e: 4. Aimed Shot related changes:
a. Aimed Shot now resets the Hunter's shot timer. This talent was always intended to be an "opening" shot, and not something that would be woven between shots. However, since Aimed Shot became such a core element for Hunter DPS, we didn't want to make this change until we were prepared to make several other changes to increase hunter DPS to offset it. Fortunately, this means that some of the odd side effects of the old Aimed Shot are no longer relevant, such as requiring hunters to use extremely slow weapons to maximize their DPS (weapons slow enough to be able to use Aimed Shot in between auto shots)
b. Arcane Shot now does substantially more damage than it did before, and scales with AP.
c. Steady Shot has been introduced as a core ability in the expansion, and provides much the same kind of gameplay as Aimed Shot did in the past (a shot you weave in between your normal shots), but to a much more managable degree (since it's a 1.5 sec shot, it doesn't require as slow of a weapon to take advantage of, and doesn't require to stand still for as long).
Am I reading this right to say that you're trying to make multiple Aimed Shots in an encounter do less damage than a Steady Shot/Arcane Shot/Multi Shot rotation? If so, I ask again what the net change is between the damage dealt with the current Aimed shot/multi shot rotation? If the new rotation is meant to be higher damage output, but with higher mana cost, then I would say you are doing a very good thing with that change.

Q u o t e: We moved Hawkeye in order to shift a meaningful talent from MM (which we felt had too many) to Survival (which we felt could use another).
Kalgan, now that this talent will be in the survival tree, please don't design raid encounters that assume all hunters have a 41 yard range. With the pet buffs, and these talent changes, not all of us are going to have Hawk Eye anymore.
255. Re: ATTN: Hunter talents are UP! 10/09/2006 11:53:04 AM PDT
Kalgan: Clarification on Misdirection description, please. The description reads "target raid member." Does this mean that MIsdirection is usable only in a raid, and not in parties?
256. Re: ATTN: Hunter talents are UP! 10/09/2006 11:53:20 AM PDT
Q u o t e:
1. The pet abilities that have been "leaked" are pet abilities that have been in the database for at least 3 years now, but never went live because they were considerably overpowered. So, ignore those. More information on new pet types/abilities will come at a later time.
2. We moved Hawkeye in order to shift a meaningful talent from MM (which we felt had too many) to Survival (which we felt could use another).
3. It is a learned talent. You click the button in your talent pane, and you learn it. :P
Kalgan: Curious as to why the dev's decided that Aim Shot shouldn't be a learned spell. With the changes to it's mechanics it seems like it will only be used to open up combat, with steady shot replacing aimed in the shot cycle.
I also agree with Hawk Eye fitting into the survival tree, makes sense.
De-linking Lethal Shots and Mortal Shots doesn't make sense to me other than a way of forcing hunters to get Aimed shot in order to increase their damage.
257. Re: ATTN: Hunter talents are UP! 10/09/2006 11:54:07 AM PDT
Q u o t e: Make Improved Hunter's Mark a 2 rank talent (8/15%). Currently it's so underpowered as to be useless. Then move Hawkeye back to rank 2 of the marksman tree where it belongs. There are too many point choices at rank 2 of survival already.
I would have to agree that it's nowhere near worth it to sink points into IHM except as a stepping stool to other talents.
258. Re: ATTN: Hunter talents are UP! 10/09/2006 11:54:24 AM PDT
5% parry is awesome.
Currently, I have 23% dodge and 10% parry, thats 33% of 100% damage midigation. Not even with deterrance up.
Lets say my final dodge is 30% after BC with 10% parry, thats 40% chance of not taking damage. With deterrance thats 8 seconds of 90% chance of no damage. How is that bad?
