I'm working on a porcupine set and am wondering if anyone has any gear suggestions.

So far I have the sporregar shield and some gloves from DM that reflect 3 damage when hit. When I remember, I'll get a shield spike.

It's not polygamy, it's AoE grinding.

I'd just stock up on a bunch of shield block.

Well, it depends.

I stocked up on spell damage for my "porcupine" gear to maximize what my abilities get from my gear, rather than find specific pieces of gear that do damage upon getting hit. I found that to be the simplest way to do it.

If you're looking for gear that's purely reactive, hrmm...there are those epic freezing rings that I've seen that Hobbs fella using. And...ummmm...

That's about all I got. I stack up on block value, spell damage, block rating, and my figurine of the colossus.

Oh. Darkmoon Card: Vengeance will also server you well.

Shield Spike, Spore shield, and... well, a block heavy set of tanky-gear.

Agreed.

Block rating, block value, Retribution Aura, Holy Shield, Blessing of Sanctuary and The Figurine of the Collosus makes a great AOE farming set.

Paladin healing is pushing 2 buttons in random sequences (small heal, big heal). It's like morse code and when decoded its says BORING.

I still have my force reactive disc; I love that thing to pieces. Yes, It can break after one session with the Illidari supplicants but it's so much bloody fun.

Think its all been said. DMC: vengance/figurine of the colossus or swap out the DMC for the heroic SD trinket for more overall damage but less stam. regular tank gear/tier gear/spelldamage tank gear. sporeggar shield with shield spike. i normally aoe with my crystalforged sword instead of my slower gavel from lower city rep cause i get more returns from jow/sow.

another thing to note is SD makes all your attacks do more damage when aoeing. so stuff that adds reflective damage may be better off being SD. one thing ive found is if i take off some gear with BV on it just enough so i get hit like 10ish when i block helps alot. heh usually dont sweat it tho cause im lazy.

hope this helps

- Force Reactive Disk (shield, requires 300 Engineering)
- Skull Flame Shield
- Petrified Lichen (Sporegar rep shield)
- Shield Spike
- Essence of Pure Flame (trinket from Ragnaros in Molten Core)
- Fetish of Chitinous Spikes (trinket from Buru the Gorger in AQ20 or AQ40)
*** I would love to have the Fetish ***
- Cloak of Fire (cloak, crafted)
- Lightening Capacitor (trinket from illhoof in Karazhan)
- Heart of Wyrmthalak (trinket from LBRS)
- Barov Peasant Caller (trinket from Scholo quest)
- Smokey's Lighter (trinket from Strat quest)
- Ramstein's Lightning Bolts (trinket from Strat)
- Figurine of the Colossus (trinket from Shattered Halls)
- Dabiri's Enigma (trinket from Netherstorm quest chain)
- Freezing Band (ring epic BoE)
- A ring from BRD that reflects 3 nature damage every time one is hit.
- I'm sure there are some plate gloves (old world) that reflect fire damage
- Dark Moon Vengence card desk (reflecting holy damage)

Figurine of the Colossus, Lightening Capacitor, Force Reactive Disk can be a really nasty trio. FRD crits pretty often and it would be pretty easy to get charges stacked when battling groups of melee.

There is another dark moon card deck that raises your critical strike rating when you land a non-critical strike. It stacks 20 times if I remember correctly. So this DMC and Chitenous Spikes. The spikes will produce non-crit nature damage, thus raising crit pretty quickly. Judge when the DMC card is fully stacked.

I forgot to add... that with a little macro work one can create a macro that fires and cycles throught using each slot item. A friend of mine started exploring the use of reactive macros. He was looking to create a macro to auto cast divine shield at 25% health. I'm not sure if he succeeded or gave up.

You might also want to stock up on Crystal Spires (I think that's the name. One of the crystal buffs you can "craft" at the pylons in Un'goro). They give you an additional damage shield (lightning(nature) damage) that looks like the shaman's lightning shield (including the casting animation) and lasts 10 minutes. It stacks with retribution aura.
