So far, so good. Wow is running decently on a fresh Erase and Install on my C2D MacBook Pro.

However, one bug that was gone for awhile has come back to rear its ugly head. Sometimes when you quit out of Wow, the Expose keys don't go back to normal. You have to go back into Expose settings and reset them.

Can we get this fixed, please?

You can make an AppleScript to actually "reset" them to your desired shortcuts so you don't have to manually do everything. I was working on doing such a script when I ended up coming across someone who had already done it ( http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/19938 ). The script however, was made for 10.3 and 10.4, and doesn't work with the current layout in 10.5, and was compiled, so now I'm going to have to go back and actually code it =\

Alright, if you use the default F9-F12 keys for Expose and Dashboard and are having the issues with WoW removing these shortcuts, this will fix your problem (=

I will say though that it doesn't look like it does anything, but with how they've changed the scripting in Leopard, it's all done in the background, and you can even change the settings and close System Preferences just to double check it ^_^

If you are having issues with it not working, make sure System Preferences is closed before running it.

Please do not link applications from the forums.

Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

Fine. Would I be able to link the script and give them instructions on how to make it a run-only application?

Sure, typing out the script and linking to that is fine. Just please avoid linking applications. Thanks for helping out other users with this problem!

Okay, here's the script:

http://www.errant-notions.net/Expose_Fix_Script.zip

To save as a Run Only Application, go to File->Save As... (CMD-SHIFT-S), change the File Format to Application, and the only option that should be checked is "Run Only". Click Save. Then you can add it right beside WoW on your Dock and just run it after you get done with WoW or as the problem arises. System Preferences must be closed in order for this to work.

The issue was never fixed, it's not Blizzard's fault, blame Apple, etc etc.

As long as you exit the game "normally" (which may not always be up to you), the settings should remain.

Actually, it was:

It's just like I said though, the next patch pretty much undid it.

The super easy simple fix is to allow us to choose if we want it to erase our Expose settings or not.

Ahhhh I'm pretty sure it was in the patch notes but was never actually fixed?

Edit: and for crying out loud, that was over two years ago. Definitely no reason to get any more upset about it because of Leopard.

ROFL, yeah, it's just though that it actually was fixed, but there are reoccurring bugs that do happen from time to time. It's just what happens though when you fix bugs--one problem might be fixed, but it causes an issue for something else or causes a previous bug fix to reoccur.

How about instead of yelling at people who are trying to make work arounds you get someone to fix it? I could never explain why my preferences kept disappearing and never made the connection to wow. Now that I know WoW is causing it I really want it fixed.

I don't even assign function keys just mouse buttons.

Every time we have tried to fix it, we have come away with the assessment that it is an OS bug.

You must have a relationship with Apple. Can you please file a bug report with them and then let us know? This bug is extremely annoying (though I'm glad to hear it's not your fault).

Thanks!
