True, that does work, but are there any plans to add incentives for world pvp? Mechanics to lay siege to major cities, and rewards for killing faction leaders perhaps?

Sorry, but we don't want leaders farmed for loot. Incentive isn't going to be in the form of an in game reward, but in the feeling of accomplishment for pushing through the enemy, staying alive, working together as a team, and taking down a significant leader.

If you're looking for PvP incentives, those are wired into Arenas, Battlegrounds, and sieging will be available in Wrath of the Lich King in the nice large PvP that will be waiting in Northrend.

There's very little world pvp nowadays. pvp objectivesLOL. People don't want pointless objectives, they want to be able to raid towns and cities again, but the Carebears Online devs think beefing up guards to the point that youre lucky if your group gets 10 steps through the gate of a city is what people want. What's the purpose of pvp servers again? Seems like it just mean that ganking is enabled, because that's all that happens as far as pvp is concerned.

I think the loot idea would be better, or at least some good Gold or honor bonus.

You can always set certain restrictions as:

Can only be killed once during the day
Spawns only on a certain time
Etc...

My suggestion to increase World PvP (Devs could do it for the expansion):

Make some neutral flight points in some regions of Northrend. Put it inside a neutral town that need to be capped (just like Halaa).

People don't like to walk long distancies. I'm pretty sure that both factions would fight a lot just to control this flight points.

Example: If it was implemented in Azeroth, a good neutral flight point would be in the tower that stand between Southshore and Tarren Mill (considering that both towns didn't have a flight point).

I'm not disagreeing with you because in reality, Blizz has proven it to be true that people will PvP where there's motive.

But, you mean ALL those posts where people sing the praises of how fun pure pvp is ... not for the acquiring of items via honor or some other system, but merely for the fun to be had by taking the field and vanquishing your enemy? The thrill that supposedly comes from the potential that every tree or curve in the road could mean a potential enemy lying in wait?

I fully agree with this post. When I first started WoW, I remember the daily raids on Xroads and etc... You really don't see much of that anymore

Nethaera, a loot droped by a World Leader don't need to be something "useful". Just like the Orb of Deception.

Example: The world leaders could drop their head to be wield in off-hand. It don't have stat, don't work as shield, libram, idol, totem or anything. It would be just something to taunt player from other faction. I think it would be great to motivate ppl and not put the world leaders in farm status.

How about loot tokens from Players lvl 70 Killed in World PvP?

Of course, attach some innocent reward (No weapons or anything of the kind) but just a small incentive to go out there and actually kill the opposite faction.

the things that need to change is:

go back to the old Honor System: and make it so you dont lose your rank through honor decay; only lose it through DKs...this would lower the amount of people ganking lowbies [slightly..]

make pvp rewards better

buff lowbie-zone guards: use a level-scaling guard system
ie:

if 4 lvl 40s attack TM then lvl 40 guards are spawned, should those 4 bring in a lvl 70...the first guard that lvl 70 kills or the first guard to die with the aid of that lvl 70 [prevents lvl 70 healers from healing 40s...much like BB guards do...they'll attack you for healing or buffing others who are engaged in pvp] will spawn a lvl 70 guard. this would bring back a balanced pvp [imo] since lvl 70s couldn't come a gank the entire town because they'd be fighting lvl 70 guards after defeating the default lvl guards.

i'd love to see a raid group of 40s raid TM w/o lvl 70s coming to assist (either side); gives world pvp a challenge then

Sorry - there is no world PvP in WOW...Blizzard lacks the capacity to implement fun PvP because they dont have designers that know what the PvP community wants...they try and they fail...it's actually kind of cute. PVP in WOW = running the same boring BG over and over, duels, and arena fighting...you see the common denominator....complete control as to who is fighting who....I dont know why they waste their time on half baked PvP world objectives....they implement something but nobody ever cares about these PvP world objectives...you could blame the community for the lack of interest...I tend to think of it as an utter design failure...if you dont do it right, dont do it at all...it's a waste of time.

dude WL's were farmed for loot? I thought the whole idea was to say you killed said leader and to post pics of the event on the realm forums???

So then stop sending mixed messages. Why continue to develop world pvp zones if the current incentive to do anything there (nothing at all) isn't working?

Either remove world pvp entirely or make it worthwhile.

What about a quest? Maybe a weekly or monthly quest even, to kill certain leaders. Or even better, have 1 of the leaders as the different target each week (like bonus honor BGs), they drop a token for everyone that you can take back to some quest giver, and he gives you something kinda cool, or a new sort of badges that you can get some new mount, or a new title when you've done all the different leaders.

There are so many possibilities, and you simply refuse to look at doing anything to make world PVP either exciting or give any incentives to participate.
