I was playing WoW earlier and then went out for a bit. When I left I put my PC in standby mode and left for a few hours. When I came back I powered my PC back up and got the blue screen of death.
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT is the message I got on the blue screen. I restarted my PC and it keeps telling me:
WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM is missing or corrupt. I attempted to repair windows with the Windows XP CD-Rom but got that same blue screen of death saying PFN_LIST_CORRUPT.
... any input?
I'm on my other PC now... retrieving any info from my now disfunctional PC is not possible. Please help me.
It appears it may be related to hardware or driver failure. Although the information is for Windows 2000, the error is likely caused by the same thing with other Windows operating systems. Please first try the steps they suggest on the site at the link above.

I had a similar problem with a T61p laptop. I found one link here that suggests it is a memory program, and points to a memory testing diagnostic tool. However, after running it full throttle (all 9 tests), it detected no errors, and given it was new and factory installed, I doubted it was a memory issue, especially since I have not had a problem with memory intensive non-DirectX applications.
After you get it working, it seems the best bet is to just set the graphics to the lowest possible settings, as some have reported that this fixes the problem for now.
