That's really a shame, my alt has the T2 sword and I really would like to upgrade it, but will obviously take my main to 25 man raids, and even if i took my alt, I would not feel right taking vorticies from any mains in the raid. Leveling blacksmithing was annoying, but being unable to ever craft the highest tier gear is even moreso.
Please consider doing something like 5 or 10 nethers -> vortex compressions (that's 50-100 heroic badges). This means that a T2->T3 upgrade would cost 250 to 500 badges to accomplish.
It would also make crafters that have outgrown these instances (we try to only do BT&MH now that we have enough keyed for progression) to still make their wares by doing heroics. Many of the boe epics go for a hefty price on my server and it doesnt seem fair to not just BS'ers, but tailors, and LW'ers that after you stop farming SSC/TK you simply cannot get the materials to make items anymore.
