Wut about something along the lines of:

.... prolly not but crits are a great thing to have, do u think the lose in AP would hurt it that much? I guess there is the cap at which flurry stays up all the time but... Ya prolly not worth it.

but recruitment for ms warrior since raid wise they can do 1200~ dps and boost 4% for ALL physical dmg.

Yea, if you could look at the WWS, which you can't all his raids are as MS.

Even if your list of fights where DW isn't " fully usable ", I could name you about 100 fights where we would never EVER use Sweeping Strikes.

Q u o t e:
First off, let me begin by saying I am 100% against the DW/SS swap. As a warrior who does both 2H MS PvP, and DW Fury PvE, this change is completely unwanted. There is no logical reason for this switch. Everyone who knows anything about warriors, knows the logical tallent to swap with SS would be enrage. That being said, if this change goes through, I really don't think it's going to be as bad as people are making it out to be.

I think we can all agree the reason we do not want DW swapped, is because of the DW Fury single target DPS loss we will incur without the ability. However, if you really think about it, there are very few encounters that we can utilize DW to its full potential, on a consistant basis. I have experienced every 25 man encounter in the game, and by my count, in only 4 (mabye 5) of the 14 boss fights in BT/Hyjal, can we expect to take full advantage of DW.

These fights include:
Archimonde, Shade of Akama, Teron Gorefiend, Reliquary of Souls, and Illidan(debateable)

Every other boss has some sort of mechanic that keeps us from being able to stay in melee range, with no damage lowering debuffs, and do steady DPS for a full 30 seconds, every 3 minutes, with little to no cooldown wasted.

Some Examples:
Rage - Unpredictable DnD placement
Azgalor - Rain of Fire, Warstomps (Depending on who you DPS)
Naj'entus - Getting spined, having to pick spines
Bloodboil - EASILY threat capped without DW
Council - Constantly have to move

Once again, the change sucks, but it really isn't the end of the world. Don't let it spoil your fun.

BTW - There is no way in hell 21/40 is going to be better than 17/44 with the current PTR changes.

Agreed, but with the 10% threat reduction DW becomes far more viable in end game raiding for fury warriors. Without DW, a single target buff to SS, or the unlinking of enrage to flurry we don't need 10% threat reduction. The only time i ever come close to pulling aggro (granted my guild is only SSC/TK) is on lootreaver. And I really don't want a talent that is going to help me on a boss that is easier than most kara bosses at the expense of a talent that helps me on most bosses.

Another thing to think of is that the removal of DW from the fury tree makes fury warriors completely obsolete from pvp. Not being able to be feared was the only thing that allows us to do well in 2v2 and 3v3...Now when people see a DW warrior in pvp they won't laugh at us...they'll just fear/sheep/cyclone/root/etc us. Before we at least couldn't be handled by shadow priests and warlocks...now even those classes will pwn us.

While I have no real interest in PvP, I would delete my warrior and leave the game rather than spec Prot. It just sucks that hard.

What this will do is give Arms warriors expanded choices while forcing every dual wielding Fury warrior to either spec a very cookie cutter 21/40, or go 31/30 and dual wield with Mortal Strike.

Fury warriors can serve as offtanks, at least currently. Death Wish is a big part of that, because of the fear immunity, it allows us to step up to the plate while the MT is feared away. The change effectively locks the fury warrior who specs for PvE dps out of all of the Prot buffs as well. Having to put 21 points into Arms to break fears puts them all out of reach.

Open your heart to the Light. Or I will open it for you.

i think every fight you listed you can easily dps for 30 seconds with deathwish on.
rage-you deathwish after dnd
azgalor-maybe not that because that fight is just not a melee fight in general
najentus-it's not like every spine on someone is right next to you and if you are melee you should only be clicking the person whos standing like 4 yards from you
bloodboil-deathwish while felraged
council-50/50 it all depends if you get blizzard/flamestriked on constantly which usually it isn't that bad.

Fury warrior dps actualy got buffed.

People are giving Death Wish way to much credit. The WW change alone if used with proper slow weapon will make up for the dps loss from loosing Death Wish. Plus the 10% less threat, fury actualy got a dps buff.

Also worth mentioning the -4% dodge chance reduction from Weapon Mastery.

Not to mention how much more flexible your PvP Warriors spec will be when you go toting your S3 weapon right Kalgan?

i thought weapon mastery would decrease dodge by ~2% if 4 weapon expertise reduces chance for an attack to be dodged by 4%, that heroic badge gear with 30 plus is insane.

whirl wind is on a 8-10 second cooldown, with a slow 2.7 weapon compared to a 1.5 speed, that's only 100-200 more damage if you CAN use whirlwind each time it's up.

that's 10-20 more dps...which is about 1800-3600 more damage in 3 minutes.

how much damage would deathwish give?

say without deathwish you have 1000 dps, and with the 20% buff it's 1200...the new wirlwind will not make up for it.

You Don't need more than 2 crowd control for 1 group.
Warriors can tank 3+ mobs at once,
I know the answer to that, and I can play your character better than you.

It hits with both weapons. So it's more like 400-800 more damage.

edit because you edited: 200 extra DPS for 30 seconds isn't better than 40-80 extra DPS always.

And it never hit with any weapon before?

off hand also gets a damage penalty.

yeah, but it always hit with the mh, so the increase witht he buff is only the offhand's damage during ww.
