It's also possible that it won't be lowered in the expansion either. Drysc said that if another level of flying skill comes along - then they will think about it. So if no higher level riding skill comes with the next expansion, the price won't be dropping.

Please, at least tell me that getting the epic flying mount truly is optional, whereas going from the land mount to the epic land mount isn't since you need a regular flying mount to get to most of the money-making quests and content in the game.

Having to shill out 5000g for the convenience of transportation is insanity.

Just don't make the next big zone to get to out in the middle of no where and it takes 5 minutes on the epic mount to fly there...cuz I'll be sad...

The 5,000 gold is optional. You can experience all the content in the game thus far with the normal flying mount, which you should easily afford at level 70 with just quest gold.

Whats the justification of making a 280% speed mount cost 2k gold? Does it have lasers or what?

I would gladly pay 2k gold for a 310 speed...

I hit 70 about three weeks after BC. Like many I loathed the cost of the epic riding skill. I thought it impossible and was astounded to see people with their fast mounts. I didn't understand what they were doing to make that money. Finally two weeks ago I got fed up and decided to get mine. How did I do it? It's very simple really.

1. DO nothing and I mean nothing but make money. No raids, no instances, no chit chat, just constant unending money making. Dailies, farming, unfinished quests, anything that will make money.

2. Spend nothing and I mean nothing but repairs. No new gear, no consumables, no skilling up professions, save every cent you get for the mount.

Whether you play every day for 18 hours or once a month for five minutes, follow this advice and you can get your mount. Do anything else and the next expansion will come out before you get one. You have to sacrifice all your other activities to achieve this goal. At least that is my take on it.

By the way, once you get it you will wonder what took you so long to finally do it.
