JUST TAKE THE STUPID SHARDS OUT OF THE WG ACHIEVEMENT.

WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO INSTANCES FOR A WG (PVPWORLD BG) TO GET SHARDS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

YOU ARE MAKING PEOPLE INSTANCE TO GET THE ACHIEVEMENT FOR WG, IF I WANTED TO INSTANCE AND GET THE ACHIEVEMENT, IT SHOULD BE MOVED TO RAID/DUNGEONS AREA OF THE ACHIEVEMENTS.

I don't mind shards, since they let me buy more BOAs. I just wish I didn't have to be a crusader to have a third point of purchase. :(

Heirloom items aren't all that are available for purchase with these shards. If we were to give them out to everyone running dungeons regardless of who controls Wintergrasp, we might as well dissolve the shards into emblems and place the shard rewards on the emblem vendors.

Stonekeeper's Shards are meant to encourage players to try and win Wintergrasp as well as run dungeons, as you can buy some good PvP items with them, whether they're heirloom items or level 80 items. It's a way of rewarding players for participating in multiple aspects of game play.

I'm glad I got my suit dry-cleaned before the riots started...

Stone keeper shards buy PVP Heirloom based items and regular PVP gear. along with honor itself.

So yeah, just putting them in all instas permanently, with a constant amount of grinding would defeat the purpose of...actually pvping :P.

Edit: Dang Zar you quick. :P

But it's oooh so true. Now, what would be nice is if we could like, trade them in for Other things aside from honor/gear.

I don't PVP a whole lot, so by the end of a long insta run, I usually end up with so much I dunno what to do with them. (but yeah, got the mount).

Considering how different the play style is in the Occulus, one might think it deserved it's own reward as well...

I personally enjoy subconciously collecting shards and a month later buying honor marks from them at around like 100k + honor

ok, done being silly.... seriously, thanks for the update, I was mildly curious about this myself (only mildly, because about all I use the shards for these days is extra honor... but hey, that's epic gems eventually ^_^).

... come to think of it, most of the epic gems in my gear came from stone keeper's shards....

So... I get to hear QQ from other servers on how the opposing faction on their server controls WG most the time due to having a significant advantage in player population.

Just don't start offering anything more from shards than what is currently available and we should be fine, Once you get the mammoth, the turn ins for honor doesn't add up to much.

In the future please don't give buffs/rewards to members of a faction that don't participate in securing those rewards.

How I would have done shards:
After participating in the battle for WG you get a hunting license to get 20 shards from instance bosses. You can have up to 50 of these potential shards at a time. In addition to current rewards you can buy BoA items that add 1/20th of rested exp to a character (under level 80) to simulate the WG buff that gives 5% exp bonus when in northrend.
