Ok, so I assume cross realm instancing will up the amount of players running instances. Then by that rationel, I would also assume Blizzard has finaly fixed the problems with to many people running instances on servers?

Actually the "fix" for the instance issue was implementing the technology that will be used for cross realm dungeons.
They modified their server farm so you can launch a dungeon from any dungeon server(in that server farm) instead of only your realm's server pool.

Have you continued to run into this issue on a regular basis? While we have seen it happen here and there, overall it has greatly diminished and players haven't had to do the 2 hour instance dance or anything crazy like that.

I haven't seen it recently but even though it wasn't very common on Natherezim to start with I noticed it happened with ToC a lot in the first few weeks. I suspect the same thing will happen with the new 5 mans. Maybe not though because I'm not sure whether its per instance or what.

If you think the 2 hour instance dance is crazy, wait 'til you see the 30 minute queue time tango...

While I realize you guys did make significant changes to address the issue, there's also the fact that activity peaks around patches & then softens/slackens off (& not being able to load instances probably made that reduction in activity even steeper than it would've been naturally, perhaps).
Since we don't have the statistics you have access to wrt the number of instances that can now be supported compared to the number of people trying to do instances on day 1 of the ToC release, we can't judge whether it's likely we'll see more of that come Icecrown release. Here's hoping :)

No, but we are still waiting to get the lag issues resolved on some of the battlegroups. A sticky was made, a hot fix was deployed, sticky was taken down, hot fix failed, tons of threads were made, no real response after that. This situation has improved, but there are still lag issues when looting, getting mail, trading, or interacting with an NPC after the peak time rolls around.
I would like to know how this is going to impact the lag on Gurubashi and others in our battlegroup when we already deal with nightly lag? While the idea of a cross server heroic run is nifty, will it be implemented in a way that does not increase the lag further than it already is?
