Anyone, liking this or what? I for one like how bllizzard is doing these badges change ups. Gives the other guilds to gear up that doesn't do "END GAME RAIDING". finally, blizzard is thinking about the small guilds for a change.

My buddy is leveling up and just hit 70. I told him there was never a better time to jump into the game. Now, once he hits 80, I can get him into Heroics and grabbing gear that will let him experience end game content and not be thrown to the pit til Cataclysm.

Having just hit 80 on the alt recently I love it. I've ran all the other raids on my main, I really dont want to have to back and grind gear just so I can play this character in current content.

5 man dungeon. Heroic and regular mode. That's what non end game raiders are gearung up for.

Man it will be a long time, even after triumph badges are available from heroics before i have any 'rotting'.
There is t9 pieces to buy, trinkets, an offset t9 set to buy and of course i need Gems to put in all the slots of those new ones.

Bull #*!#. Triumph badges=crusader orbs=750g per on my server. If you have 400 triumph badges you are sitting on 10s of thousands of gold and calling it worthless.

its nice for people who are good players, but its creating an entire section of the game who are very geared up and are just completly awful at playing in raids.


the way it is right now people are getting to 80, getting carried through heroics by overgeared people until they are also overgeared for heroics just from getting badge items, and they never really learn how to play worth a crap.

they jump straight into raids from there because they think they are leet with their badge items and its wipefest after wipefest because they are terrible players.


thats my only problem with it.

working to gear up forced players to become skilled at the game and playing as a raid in order to get the gear.

todays wow allows you to be terribad and still be extremly well geared, its creating a generation of baddies who have gear.

It's also created run away mudflation. That stupid Ice Crown aura that removes -20% dodge shows that the WoW devs had no idea what they were doing with itemization and had no idea where they wanted characters to be gear wise going into ICC.

Usually I am against gear resets, but the major gear reset they have coming with cataclysm will hopefully get WoW set on a track to fight mudflation and not embrace it.

Well-geared "baddies" have always existed. They were just as common in pre-BC when you had a core of 20 or so good players carrying the rest of the 40 man group through raids. Your falsely-remembered "good old days" where only the "leet" had epics never occurred.

Its alot more noticable now, because of the number gear level changes going on in WoTLK

While we have changed the emblem system several times since the inception of badges of justice back in The Burning Crusade, we feel this is currently a good way to go so players aren't forced to run just old content like Naxxramas for 2 months to work their character/alt up to do higher/new content.
