I'm well aware that the forum MVPs do. You can armory any of them if you please. However, this option isn't available for blue posters. I've always wondered if they actually do play or if they're only Blizzard employees, nothing more. I think it'd be cool to see a Bornakk or Nethaera in game.

The accounts that the blues sign in to to have their text blue, and have the power of a CM, are only accessible at the Blizzard HQ, and they can't sign in to them at home. They probably have their own separate accounts.

For obvious reasons, they hide their real toons' name.

They do, but for obvious reasons, tend to be very private about who they are in game.

I dunno about that. I really don't care for seeking out blue posts, so I don't get to see many. I would imagine that they have all gone through so much game testing that they spew fluids from every orifice at the mention of the name of the game.

That doesn't mean they know what it's like to actually PLAY it.
You don't have to seek the blue posts. just look for the ones with the blue Blizzard symbol next to them. that, or use Google Reader to subscribe to the blue tracker.

When at work, they are on special terminals at Blizzard's building (Irvine or Austin), which gives them access to the GM tools necessary to do their job. They are not logged into the game as a player when at work.

Most (if not all) of the GM's have their own personal account (just like you and me) which they can play on (just like you and me) as a private individual. When playing on their personal account, they have no special privileges. They play the game the same as all of us do.

And we will never know their character names as belonging to someone who works at Blizz.
You could have grouped with a Blizz employee and never known it.

If you want to be heard, don't give them a reason to shut you down.

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to laugh at this, or take it seriously.

...then I laughed anyway.

I've seen a Blue in a screenshot with his name blurred out. He was a Gnome Warlock. :3

I can't remember for the life of me who it was, but I knew he had the common assortment of random cloth epics on. So he didn't get gear from his job, and he just collected it raiding. It's possible one or two people or an entire guild (an entire 10 man raiding group of Blues!?) know what toon is a Blue, but they're probably long-time friends and won't reveal it.

WTB this job.

Your $14.95 says you can play the way that you want. But the rest of the raids $358.80 says know your role.

From what i understand if a Blue/Employee of blizz have their character discovered they go into a kind of witness protection kinda thingy.

They definitely do. Neth has posted about her love of the in-game music, many many times. Zarhym has that classic line about setting up all his alts with 20-slot bags because that's how he "rolls," etc.

Zarhym also talks a lot about his Warlock and DK alts.

He was actually on the PTR yesterday playing a Belf DK.
