Like many of you, I have played WoW for many years and leveled many toons, 3 to 80 to be exact and many more 60+ 70+, and I was thinking that I still can't really say what toon I loved playing more then the other.

I'm just curious, from you veterans out there, that may have done end game content with more then one toon, which one did you truly enjoy playing that didn't feel like it was a job to play?

I guess the reason I was thinking about this is because I'm seriously debating where my WoW future lies. Kind of feels like it's ending slowly......

I've raided with my Warlock for T4 and some T5, my Resto Shaman for T5/T6/T7 and now my Holy Paladin for T8/T9 and about to be T10. I can honestly say that my Paladin is by far the most fun for me to play. I think first you must decide what role (tank, dps, heal) you enjoy playing the most, then decide from there. I enjoy healing for many reasons and between my Shaman and Paladin, i greatly prefer the Paladin. I've been back to all the old raids all the way back to T1, and can still agree that my Pally is the most fun.

As for the job thing, I think that after a long stretch of raiding, any toon can feel like a job. This counts for long raid farming week after week, as well as beating your head against a boss (or their hardmode) for hours/days/weeks most certainly feels like a job.

It's all about one's perspective though. If it feels like a job and you hate your job, then maybe that's not the right class/role for you to play. If it feels like a job and you love your job, then showing up prepared isn't so bad and - i feel - just makes the rewards of watching big demons die (or achievements popup) much more enjoyable.

I'm going to agree with Xephos, paladin is a really neat class class to play no matter what spec it is. I've also found druids to be quite enjoyable in the tanking and healing area.

I've main raided as a rogue in original, a warrior in original/BC and a dk in wrath. I've off raided with a mage/holy pali/druid/warlock. By far the most fun I've had in terms of which toon was the most enjoyable was the paladin.

I started up as a MS warrior and I used to love it. Then I came here and got used to the mage, have always liked it to be honest. Now a DK tank is fun to play often enough and do the same fights from a different perspective, keeps the game fresh. I have an 80 rogue but I am awful at it and hate playing it for more than farming.
I guess my mage would be my favorite

Black Temple was the best instance - you actually felt good when you finally killed a boss, progression was actually a meaningful endeavour and people would actually have to read up on strats and practice fights through various methods to succeed - Wrath of the Lich King is piss easy, I can't even stand to raid anymore because it's been designed for thumbsuckers and pants on head wearers.

I'm sure I'm only saying this because time has healed the mental scars, but SWP remains my favorite instance. Every boss was a serious challenge and even trash packs could wipe you if everyone wasn't on their toes. Pre nerf M'uru was the hardest raid encounter I've ever done and I regret we couldn't down him before 3.0 ruined the challenge.

As to class selection, try a healer. Healing offers the most intense and gratifying moments and you aren't stuck doing the exact same rotation for hours and hours each raid night. But if your heart is set on dps go for a DK or one of the pure classes or at least not a shaman. Raiding elemental has improved significantly from BC but is still one of the least interesting dps specs to play.

Black Temple? Are you kidding me? Only hard bosses in BT were ROS pre-nerf, Mother Pre-nerf, Bloodboil, Teron (Learning the fight that is), Council and Illidan. Rest was a lootfest.

Naxxramas 40 is where it's at. Obviously you've never done it and you've only cleared BT late. TK / SSC / Magtheridon was way harder than BT, pre-nerf that is.

So, 6 out of the 9 bosses were hard before they got nerfed then? Sounds about on target for me. I don't think anyone would disagree about Najentus, Akama and Supremus being Piñatas, but that was kind of the point. They were easy loot as a reward for having gotten Vashj/Kael down.

Also, hardest instance != Best instance.

(Not that I'm saying BT was the best, but the fact that TK/SSC bosses with their horrendous tuning and trash from hell were 'harder' doesn't make those better instances. Most of the fight mechanics in BT were much more fun and engaging, with a few notable exceptions.)

I've been playing a warrior since I picked up the game. Defiantly a fun class. My warlock is pretty fun to play... I just hate mana more than anything.

Why so Cataclysmic?

Priscillah, I'm talking about the first time through all of the fights, we were in BT as soon as the patch hit and burned into the bosses therein, however, most of the bosses weren't on PTR so we basically went in clueless. How the hell were TK/SSC harder than BT? lulz noob below and loot reaver tbh - the only hard fights in TK/SSC were Kael'thas and Vashj. Magtheridon? Really? Oh, right - I AM HARD TIME CLICK BUTTON NOW, NERF ENCOUNTER! amirite?

Sunwell Plateau was great but it was both too short and the gated release was stupid.

Naxxramas 40 was fairly easy til Horsemen lol, none of the content in 40 mans was incredibly difficult, however, it was difficult to get 40 decent players together and online consistently enough to learn the fights. Prior to Naxx/AQ40 you could have up to 10 people afk for encounters and still win phat loots, all Naxxramas and AQ did was made it so that those 10 would have to pay attention a bit lol

The trash in TK was ridiculous at times, don't get me wrong but trash =! instance difficulty; the bosses in both instances were beatable with little to no preparation and a bit of attention paid to AoE.

I think BT deserves the win just for RoS, I giggled with glee when I saw my mana pool literally shrinking - I was sold from then on.

I'm sticking with Black Temple. <3

For me it was and will be until Cataclysm Blackwing Lair.
Like a guildie said once "I play fantasy games to kill dragons not lava monsters, BWL has dragons, I am sold".
When it first came out every fight mechanic was new, challenging and fun. Nefarian is still one of my favorite encounters because it was tailored for every single class in the game to have to be on their toes with the calls and what not.
Sure, you could do all of BWL with 10 people picking their noses and eating the contents, but, except for the stupid supression room, I found everything in that instance very fun to do.

In short, hybrids.
Throwing Frost/Fire/Arcane bolts for 4 years is bound to get boring to anyone; nice thing about hybrids (not to mention switching mains every expansion) is that your job is always changing.

I've played this rogue toon for years. Istill love it tbh, just gets boring sometimes due to the fact a) I took a few months off and since I've been back, it's almost impossible to find people to run the new content with, since I've never done it yet and everyone wants 5k dps bleh bleh, pls know fights bleh bleh bleh. B) I transferred here to play with friends that unfortunately never play.

So now I'm going with a mage. My first toon was a mage way back when and figured I would give it another try. I played a pally to 77 and I found the healing to be VERY difficult to keep up with. Or maybe I just had goober groups? lol

So I have to go with rogue. It's still fun to me!

Oh ya, and I hated 40 man Naxx, the trash was ridiculously hard

Honestly, WoW is bad, but I still play because of the people I made friends with over the years, and getting together a couple nights a week to knock out some raids and shoot the breeze is still fun. The druid sort of rejuvenated my WoW career, though, because I can pull some decent DPS, and I enjoy druid healing. It's fun to go into PuGs as a healer, and while healing, outDPS the PuGs in DPS spec and gear. That's always a hoot :P
