PHD is a funny name when you don't know what it means in WoW terms.
Games has had various effects on me. Runescape, tripled typing speed. SSB, improved reflexes. WoW, teamwork.

MMO's, however, have taken away my ability to tell between sarcasm and stupidity.

top teams get sponsored, go to wherever this tournament is being held, play eachother on i THINK the latest patch, blah blah blah

The tournament is held at a venue (this tourney is going to be at the same place blizzcon was held; anaheim convention center). I think (but not sure) that its a private server which blizzard opens specifically for the tournament.

Essentially we open up a tournament realm and copy the characters of the competing teams over to it. It's not unlike the way we handle any special events (i.e. Arena tournaments, BlizzCon live raids) or test realms.
I'm glad I got my suit dry-cleaned before the riots started...
