Geographically they work in Irvine I think.
As far as the other responsibilities I imagine they spend a good deal of time communicating with the developers and talking about where the game is headed and what the community is talking about or asking for.

I'm guessing they have access to their forum stuff from home (the only way Tseric was most likely able to get away with posting what he did before he left) but most of the time work from the Blizz offices.
