Here's the deal.

I get to play about 1-2 hours a day. Because of this i've yet to do a single instance, ive got pretty craptastic gear and really no hope of getting anything better besides maybe pvp honor gear.

With my time limit on playing I cant get into any guild runs because they take too long to get started and I definitely cant do pug runs with my crappy gear.

Should I go ahead and quit since having a lvl 80 in quest greens is about as good as its going to get?

you can get some heirloom items, they are equal to blue items of your level

Depends, if your main goal in WoW is to raid, and you know that you'll never have the time to do it then quitting maybe your best option.

If you like solo play or bg's though, there's still plenty to do, even with only an hour or two of playtime. There are quests in Icecrown which have blue rewards. If you know you have at least an hour & 1/2 you can always do an instance. Bg's and WG are easy to hop into and accumulate honor for decent gear. Lots of good solo quests you can do for the Argent Tournament to net some decent gear as well.

And just remember, if raiding isn't that much of a priority for you, you don't need the high end raiding gear. PVP gear and things you can get off the ah are just fine for solo play and instancing.

I've had loads of fun without ever reaching 80, let alone doing instances.

If you enjoy the few hours you put in, then no you shouldnt quit. You should however find a nice guild who knows you cant log in very much and plan runs with them. Even with only a few hours time to spend, you can at least get the gear out of ToC. And craftables! :)

Is WoW a fun way to kill those 1-2 hours you have? If so then you have to weigh it against the $15 a month cost. Is the 1-2 hours of fun a day worth $15 a month?

If so keep playing and enjoy whatever you find fun in the game....if not maybe its time to move on.

Are these your actual experiences in game or did you just compile complaints you hear on the forums into one post?

If you're not having fun and don't see your situation changing any time soon, quitting may be the best option.

You see man as a rather dismal creature. Yes. Why not? Look around...you'll see what's there. Fear, and frightened people who kill what they can't understand.

1-2hrs/day is plenty of time to run 2-3 heroics. HVH is easy, normal TOC is easy, and both are 30min instances.

Generally the easiest instance to find a group for will be the daily heroic followed by the daily normal. Try those as your bound to find a pug that doesn't care your in greens/blues.

IF your in all greens you might consider running the lv78+ normals too (Halls of Stone/Lightning, CoS, gundrak, up) as you can get some decent upgrades from the quest greens there to help you out.

And if all your sporting is lv80 blues/greens don't expect to raid ;) (maybe nax10 but for that you should have all blues and a few heroic dungeon epics)

DO PVP!

theres no time commitment and all the gear except weapons you can get from BGs

Also bliz, makeing the only pvp weapons available being for like 2k rated players was really annoying.
Pve people can get all the gear they need without ever pvping but it doesn't work the other way around.

you have to be the best to get the furious weapons, but through pve you can get tons of weapons withoutbeing in even one of the better raid guilds on the server, its lame.

You've not answered the first question:
Are you having fun?

If yes, then keep it up. Roll a new toon, or do BGs or whatever.

If you're bored, and your schedule won't allow you to play the way you want to, then quit. Your account will still be there when you have time to come back to it.

Sure 1-2 hours sounds like plenty of time to run a few heroics, but that doesnt take into account the time needed to get into the groups.

Guild runs usually take up to an hour to get formed and pugs are a complete no go. Ive yet to find a pug that will let a fresh green geared 80 with ZERO experience in the instance into the group.
I'd do it. As long as you said ahead of time that you dont know the instance. I'd drag you through whatever I am capable of dragging you through (its not much unfortunately). ^_^

Sometimes the best way of getting groups can be stating that you dont have the gear and that you need help. I recall a DK saying that in all honesty in trade and he got in apparently since his requests went away not too long later. :D

Options for greens:

  • Check what quests give blue rewards.

    PvP for epics.

Check the AH for crafted blues, or ask around for crafters and acquire the mats.

Check reputation vendors see what they offer. Do their dailies.

If your lack of time to play is making it so the game isn't fun anymore - then you should probably quit...

If your lack of high end gear is bringing your experience down - then you're really playing for the wrong reason - and you should probably quit.

In other words, if something is making the GAME "not fun" anymore - quit.
