Doubt it. If they didn't remove it when they release ToC they probably won't in 3.3

Most servers have elitist raiders who grief roleplayers. Wyrmrest is the opposite.

While many have assumed this, there's never been any evidence to give it any more credence than any other theory.

i'm about 99% sure that the main reason they didn't remove the Rusted & Ironbound drakes in 3.3 was because there was no meta-achievement for ToC to replace them.

Its reasonably safe to assume that ICC will have some sort of meta-achievement and mount attached.

This is probably the case. The achievement will stay, but the drakes will be gone in place of some new ones from a similar ICC achievement.

This was my thought as well. Also I don't think the gear from ToC trivialized the hard modes nearly as much as Ulduar gear did for Naxx (as in, Naxx achievements were fairly easy to begin with - except for Immortal which was more of a luck thing).

I suspect they will remove the drakes, though it's odd nothing has been mentioned yet. Would be lame to not give very much advance warning to people...

Nothing has been mentioned because the PTR probably still has a hefty ways to go ie; more than a month. I'm also betting they'll remove them as of 3.3.

The same post we made on this a couple months back still applies to the situation.

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=18704852935&sid=1

"Currently we have no plans to remove them in the foreseeable future. However, we will continue to evaluate the situation and if a decision is made to remove these rewards at any point in the future, we'll provide a one month warning so players will have time to make some final attempts. "

Removal and 3.3 may not be simultaneous. Historically, blizz does not give much, if any, indication of when a patch will actually be out (it's possible that technical issues may prevent even them from knowing when the patch is ready). At the same time, Bliz wants to give an advance warning of a month before pulling the drakes.

The two don't go particularly well together, though it doesn't mean that they won't occur close to each other either.

Actually there are several cases for arena seasons ending that they've told us that they'd occur with the patch and they gave us a 2 week warning; meaning 2 week warning of the patch too.

And, thanks, Borakk.

Agreed. If you were to see a blue announcement that Glory of the Ulduar Raider would be removed in a month, you could use that as your sign that there's one month to the next major patch.

Honestly, I would be surprised if they did not remove the drake rewards for Glory of the Ulduar Raider (10/25). ToC25 gear makes them much easier to attain and I would think that IC level gear would make the task somewhat trivial. A current example is how easy 'of the Nightfall' achievement is to attain when you completely out-gear it and completely forgo any semblance of strategy (zerg anyone?).

The point of the drake rewards is that you achieved something somewhat challenging and are thus awarded accordingly. With IC level gear, I don't really see the challenge. I would prefer they remove the Ulduar drakes and offer new drakes for some sort of "Glory of the Icecrown Raider".

We don't really know what they view the goal of the drakes to be at the moment. They obviously felt that the prior reasoning was flawed. Some popular theories have been thrown around - "ToC wasn't a full raid", "ToC didn't have a drake" etc etc. But as Borakk pointed out, the only information we have is that they aren't removing them, and they had/have no plans to do so in the foreseeable future. Been very quiet on their actual reasoning for that. I'd actually be surprised if we saw this sort of mount reward in Icecrown.

In other words, you're not sure yet exactly when 3.3 will be out, so you aren't going to give notice yet. Wait until later. ;)

(Not that I'd be upset if the drakes stay in, nooooo, not at all!)

I don't even like riding my Rusted or Ironbound drakes because I didn't finish them before the new tier of content was released. While it is true that I wasn't wearing any ToC25 or ToC10 gear when I got my Freya +3 & Firefighter kills, that doesn't make the letdown of not finishing it before 3.2 feel any more "okay".

Didn't they just give the majority of the player-base a 310 proto? Is it really a big deal if the rusted becomes like the red proto with ICC gear? One light will still cock-block the truly bad on 25 so at least iron bound will stay rare.

DPS is directly proportional to both how hard and fast you hit your keys.

I feel you on this, I joined this guild post FF and never went back to it. If I don't get it? ICC will have one. If I do? Cool, now I have 2 toons with a 310.

should have removed them a while back already. It just unfair for those who did them in the HARDEST way. Now ppl just faceroll through them like cake, used to be that you touch fire you die, now you can stand in fire for a couple of second before getting out. watz the !*@#ing point.

Same with algalon achievement. The worst part about algalon was tanking him and raid damage, now ppl have like way superior tankning gear and healing gear.. watz the point... now the fight only consists of tank switch and getting in and out of holes....

~94% of the playe base has yet to kill Algalon on 10m, let alone 25. Was at 1,700 guilds or so last I checked.

In b4 old content is old. I wonder why so many people have of the nightfall >.>
