Vendors provide repairs and all spell reagents plus arrows. The only drawback is you do not get faction discounts.

I lub my traveler's mammoth. Already been a few times that someone forgot to repair or stock up reagents... just step outside the instance and boom, done.

Mammoths are a failure, I dare say. They are just too big and they move in a very clumsy way. They look good when you mount them in the middle of nowhere, but in any city they just... suck. If you want a cool look - I say go for the hog. Nothing beats the roar of that engine.

I think you are missing the main point here. The mammoth has room for an extra passenger and vendors, but the chopper has a license plate that says "PWN". I rest my case.

If you're buying the mammoth because it has reagents and food and water, you may want to consider the longevity of that decision: Will the vendors' materials be upgraded during Cataclysm? Does that matter to you?

I think the hog has much more style to it, and stands out a lot more. If you're the kind of guy who needs people to whisper him to ask for rides and otherwise stroke your ego, the motorsickle is the way to go. The pizzazz offered by the hog is timelessly awesome and will carry right on over into Cataclysm.

If you want a model that looks identical to something much cheaper but has a couple of potentially obsolete NPCs attached to it, then go with the TT. It's likely that a better (or at least lateral) version of this beast will be available in Cataclysm.

Personally, I think both are a waste of gold. I'd rather buy epic flight for some friends.

I have a tundra mount I find it helpful for when I'm out and about with the repair / vendors.

But for normal wandering around Dal I use my Sea Turtle.


Probably get a bike soon as my engineer has just reached the stage where he can make it.

I have been waiting to know if the vendor mats will be upgraded in Cataclysm before I decide on buying one.

At least on my server, everyone has a hog, not too many with the mammoth so standing out is kind of a case by case thing. I bought the mammoth because my GF has the hog so it's really like we have both :P

If I were to pick one or the other, I'd still say mammoth for the repair and vendor services as well as an extra passenger.

I bought epic flight for two of my toons. I help guildies and bought a bank tab. Time for something fun . I have maxed tailoring on this toon and Alch on another. I farm and do what I can to help others.

My practical side says this. My inner orc says "HOG!!!!"

If I were going to choose, I'd probably spend days figuring out how much extra gold I'd make with the mammoth, how 2 passengers are better than one, and how useful the vendors were. Then I'd by the Hog.

Can we get a less "extreme" passenger mount. We have a choice between a giant mammoth or a techy motorcycle. Can't I just have a casual two passenger hawkstrider :D

Mammoths are overdone. It would have been cool if everyone didn't own one. I'm reminded of cheap marketing ploys used to brainwash children into buying the newest "fad" when i see mammoths everywhere in Dalaran.

Funny you should say that. I started this Toon in um May I think. So it really did not take me long to save. Guess the question now is . What do I buy first lol
