I don't want to QQ about it, but I do hope they get it fixed soon! (Please don't QQ about it, %%*##ing at them wont make them work faster although you are welcome to apply for a job at blizz with me.) On the plus side all of my locks are reset by now and I don't have to sit around and wait.

Edit, Edit, Edit. I'm bored and the forums are occupying me :D

Somebody already touched on this I believe, but while everyone is bashing Blizzard for the down-time today, how many people were praising them last week when we had no regular maintenance? IMO Blizzard has done, and regularly does, terrific things for this game and the players but we are much more apt to notice the few things that they drop the ball on. In the end, there is a good reason Blizzard has basically cornered the MMO market for so many years now. For every "bad" thing we QQ about there are a few good things that we give no thanks for.

6 hours of downtime a week is bad?
let's see, I played / play other MMOs and some of them are down an entire day for maintence. Some are down a set time every night, and a few I never see down.
Those that are never down, however, never have updates.

Q u o t e:
I agree with some of the other post on here. The time i have to play without my wife jumping down my neck is in the wee hours of the morning. Most the time i play from like 8 to 2. Well the last 2 days i havent even got to play something that i am paying 15 dollars a month for. Its not only the last 2 days thou, it seems like alot of the time the decide to take the severs down around that time. I think if were going to pay 16 dollars a month then servers should be up for play anytime, no down servers and if so let us now whats going on and when(estimate) we i should be able to play again. Also we shouldnt have to pay 20 bucks for expansion packs, those should come with the 15 dollars a month. Ya im kinda new to this but i played Diablo 2 for YEARS and love blizzard but you know how many times i couldnt log into diablo because server down, almost never and every add on with that game came for free with no monthly payment.

Sorry, I just had to vent a lil because it seems like blizzard thinks that people dont play from like 6 am til noon. I would just like to play a game that im paying for.

The regular maintenance cycle is typically in the early hours due to measurements based on traffic. Sorry, but you play when the majority apparently do not.

Diablo 2's way of handling traffic is far different than how WoW handles traffic. World of Warcraft relies on servers owned and maintained by Blizzard to coordinate thousands of connections simultaneously. As 'great' as Diablo-2 was, it only ever had a SMALL fraction of people on at the same time as WoW has. Furthermore, if I recall correctly, it replied on Client-Side hosting for individual games, which only had a few players on at each time. (As one host left, it was delegated to another, until all leave.) This is something you cannot do in a true MMO environment. Diablo was not such an environment.

Furthermore, Diablo 2 did not have nearly as much content, not as much additions to the overall game, and you would like to think when compared to WoW.

the basic idea is this:
1. humans are imperfect
2. computers are made by humans
3. thus computers are imperfect
4. and finally this means that epic fails can and will happen(remember murphys law.)
5 thus the only thing you can do is stfu and do something else while you wait. i hear beer is good.

Why are some of you so convinced that $14.99 a month is so much money? You spend what, 30$ a week on gasoline, you make a trip to the Quick-Trip down the street for a frozen burrito and a bag of chips and just spent 1/2 your WoW monthly subscription. Lets stop acting like we're talking about a million dollars here, it's less than $20.00, and most people see a twenty dollar bill as chump-change.

Not only are you paying $14.99 a month to play the play the game, you're also paying for the people who maintain its salary, you are also allowing them to maintain it, that is why you agreed to the TOS upon playing WoW. If you don't like having to deal with the simple 2-3 hour down-times every time there is a minor issue, then perhaps you should go spend your precious $14.99 per month on something else.

Most of you are just QQing because you have nothing better to do, and those that reply to it, like me and others pointing out your QQing is because we're getting a laugh out of it. It's hilarious to see you all come out of the woodwork and whine over something that no matter what you say or do, has no bearing on fixing the issue any faster or any better than it will as if you had said nothing.

The question is... Should we have to praise them for doing it correctly? My boss doesn't congratulate me and throw rose petals everywhere I step when I do the job I'm supposed to do correctly. It's my job. I'm supposed to do it right every time. Yes, a few compliments here and there are nice, but it's not like we should throw a celebration every time something weekly goes according to plan.

My biggest problem with the DK nerfing is that I am on an arena Team with my DK.
First, AoD was removed, but that I understood.
Then some of our AoE was nerfed, and I tolerated that.
Now, the one big advantage I have is going to be removed (Lichborne is going to be tied to the trinket timers)
Where I had three break aways, I will now only have two, and Lichbourne becomes useless for the most part..... or one of the trinkets does....

I think that Druids will be tops again after this patch......

And you see what happens without maintenance? More maintenance to fix the maintenance.

well in all technicality doing it correctly would have been to have the weekly maintenence. anyway its nice for everyone to get a pat on the back for good things they do regardless of who they are.

So, in the time that my server has been down, I've done the following things today.

Saved a burning bus full of children.
Cured AIDS and TB.
Ate a healthy breakfast (Always important! ;D)
Cleaned the house.
Raked the lawn.
Took a shower. (C'mon, some of you out there haven't done that in a while!)

For a full list of the things I've done today, feel free to get out of this forum thread, stop whining that the servers are down, and do something constructive with your life.

No, in reality, I didn't do SOME of those things, but the best part is, is that I did do MOST of those things. Isn't it wonderful what server downtime can allow you to get done?!

But seriously. Stop whining. It's not the end of the world. The servers go down from 5:30 AM to 11:30AM at least once a week anyway, this isn't different, except the fact it could be down during the day! Oh my!

If you're this enraged about a game, it's time you seek mental help. You obviously are highly addicted to this game, and if 6hrs of not playing it makes you go insane, maybe suicide is the best solution for you.

Your boss sucks then.
My boss thanks me everytime I bring a client onboard sucessfully.
He even thanks me after client meets when he thinks my insight and input may have pushed the client in our favor.

Most importantly, he thanks me every month with a nice big check...

My Thanks to Blizz..... I renewed all my subscriptions :P
