A hotfix has been applied which will prevent various Day of the Dead items from disappearing while changing zones or retrieving items from the mail.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you may be aware, this weekend we will be celebrating the memories of those we've lost by observing the Day of the Dead within Azeroth. We welcome you to visit the graveyards of all major cities to take part in the festivities.

We are currently investigating the following issues surrounding the event:

Macabre Marionette disappearing when changing zones **resolved**
Players being disconnected when retrieving Bread of the Dead or Candy Skulls from the mail, auction house, and guild banks **resolved**
The Day of the Dead costume may not last the full 12 hour duration

Unfortunately, the Game Master staff will be unable to provide immediate assistance as these issues also affect our ability to provide reimbursement. Please refrain from submitting an in-game petition regarding the issues described within this thread unless otherwise instructed.

Our Quality Assurance and Development teams are working to identify and address these issues as quickly as possible so that you may fully enjoy the Day of the Dead events. Should more information become available, updates will be provided within this thread.

I have met with the Cheerful Spirit in UC 7-8 times, and he didn't have a quest for me. I had bread on me at the time. I went (via orb) to Silvermoon, I got the quest from the Cheerful Spirit there. My bread was gone, so I made more, and turned in the quest. I got the pet, woot.

Now that I'm in ORG, no little skeleton pet, and no quest from the Cheerful Troll spirit. :( Otherwise a fun two-day holiday...

I was only able to get and do the quest at my own Race's capital.
Dunno if this was intended or not.

You have to go to your 'home' city graveyard. If it's your posting character, go to Silvermoon.

You'll have to go to the graveyard at your racial capital, because you can only get the quest from ancestors that match your race.

you have to go to your races home city and they should offer you the quest there.

You can save yourself a lot of time and headache by reading the stickies. Solutions to most issues can be found there, or at Blizzard.com/support. Be pro-active and help yourself!!!

I agree, the pet should be made permanent.
The pet from Brewfest, Hallow's End, all the others are permanent. And the one from Brewfest was no harder to get than this one.

Considering all the problems, players losing their pets as soon as they get them, I think this would help make up for that.
And I agree, I like the sombrero'd skeleton, he's cute.

Undoubtedly this will be fixed as soon as the Day of the Dead is over :(

I love the pet and hate to think that I won't be able to use it again till next year.

Macabre Marionette also vanishes when you log out for any period of time. Did anyone test this before going live?

lost my pet,bread etc when i hearthed to dalaran.you cannot redo the quest either :(. very dissapointed.

I seem to have lost my costume when I gained the buff blessing of auchindoun. at least that is what my combat log stated.

While the pet has a limited time that you can use it, the collectors out there would like theirs back for sure.

Actually its a 2 day event
and mine despawned 15 seconds after I sumoned it. Pet gone, item that summons it gone. zip

Add another quirk to the "Day of the Dead" bugs, a guild member put some bread in the bank for me and when I went to retrieve it , it disappeared did not go in bag nor did it reappear in the guild bank.. The log shows me taking it but It is not in my bags. Just thought I would let you know about this glitch ;)

i have that achievement, still want to to be permanent. just love getting mini pets.

And the banter refer to those who will come here whining to get a learnable pet to nerf [Lil' Game] more.
