Does anyone know if/how much an intern gets paid at Blizzard?
I have lots of experience as a sound designer and think it wold be awesome to be a sound designer for games.

Oh, well damn, it's been a long time since I checked their job site (before they updated the official site and all), I just remember them not having internships at all back then...
I'm from Maryland but Ghostcrawler is the only crab I like.

It is surprising that Blizzard would even be concerned about internships.

Many companies actually recruit through internships/co-ops
You can get a Computer Engineering student, pay them $15/hr, work them on and off for a year and a half (my school has a 1 semester on, 1 semester off program for a total of 3 semesters of co-op) and figure out if you want to hire them as a full time employee.

There needs to be a job position available in order to apply for it. Blizzard only has an intern sound design position right now. Which is why I am asking if they pay their interns... I can't move out to CA if it won't pay.

If you plan on making a big decision like that I'd advise you intern at local places while getting a degree.. Build a portfolio that exudes excellence then apply.

It's actually quite awesome. I've met plenty of interns here helping us with various projects and they all seem to be very excited to have the opportunity. We're equally excited to have them and help foster the creative spirit in the gaming industry. :)
I'm glad I got my suit dry-cleaned before the riots started...
