They pay to play the game to.. I have always hated the fact that some people never get the chance to do things in this game because they can't play all the time... Just makes the game fun for everyone whats wrong with that. It's just a video game. I'm excited for my alts.

Oh noes! People will now be able to buy another tier of PvP gear without becoming a serious PvPer. They still can't get any good gear (because the good gear requires ratings) and can obtain BETTER gear from PvE.

This change is truly shocking and will ruin WoW.

Yeah, but you do have to admit it'd be a little silly if you could grind BGs all day and get your entire Relentless set in 12 hours of marathon premades.

175 points a week does seem pretty weaksauce, though. Better than nothing.

175 points a week is less than I'd like, but something is better than nothing - really sucks to end a week 60 points shy of that next piece of gear, right? :)

Agreed. Yeah i do think it would be better if it gave it abit more points.

As an off note this seems like a way to coax people to do arena.(you still need ratings)

I was looking at it the other way. It's a way to get more people to do battlegrounds. I already have everything I need this season - I literally do not need honor (unless I wanted to buy some Furious pieces or something... I already have the 38000 or so I'll need to buy my 1h weapon next week), so unless I want to buy gems (and I'll probably start doing just that), I have little reason to go do Battlegrounds... aside from the fact that I'm having fun chipping my way towards Battlemaster.

With arena point rewards, it might encourage people like myself (but who aren't interested in Battlemaster) to play more Battlegrounds - it'll be nice if it means I don't have to sit in the queue for 10 minutes during prime time to get into a game of Warsong Gulch or Arathi Basin. But then again, Stormstrike sucks.

You'll still have to wait most of the week if you're more than 50 or so points off. Maybe it should just be a weekly thing where you get the 175 points in a lump sum instead.

While this is nice for fresh 80's looking to get last season's rewards.. is it possible to implement a way for higher ranked players to get as much from this change? Say, scale the arena point reward based off of your highest team/personal rating?

Given that you need a ranking to get any PvP gear that you can't already get with honor, I'm not sure what this changes.

It should speed up getting non-rating pvp gear. If i recall you can get deadly gear for some arena points and honor(significantly less honor).
