I was wondering when the new expansion comes out, will we be able to make 11 characters? Because right now i have 10 characters 1 for each class. With the new Worgen coming out I wanted to know if we were going to be able to have 11 spots open or if i was going to have to delete one of my high level toons to make a new worgen. I'm sure I'm not the only person out there that has 10 characters 1 for each class so if the Blue blizz couldn't answer this for me that would be great!

Well i didn't go to blizz com so i didn't know that.. So basically what you guys are saying is since people like me like to try out every class and have fun and level our stuff up we are going to be punished and have to delete a toon we worked hard on to level up just to play a new race. Hmmm that sounds pretty crummy to me. =(

I'd love to see more character slots, personally, considering I'm an RPer and already have about... 8 slots taken up, and I plan on making more toons once Cataclysm comes out. I'd REALLY hate having to go to a different realm just to make another character, because I make these characters for role play. : /

LOL i'm not trying to be a Martyr I'm just saying i'm sure there is a ton of people out there then just me who have 10 toons and have spent alot of time leveling them up to play, and to see that we will have to delete everything we did and time spent just to play a new race is really crummy on blizz's part.

Surely at least one of those characters you don't enjoy all that much. I have 4 80s, 2 72s, a 52, a 36 and 2 bankers. One banker got turned into his own guild and I never really got into the mage, so I'm deleting 2 to make a 2nd shaman (yay dwarves) and a worgen druid (Nelfs suck). Is it really so hard?

You can also always set one up on a different server or pick up another account. There are options.

This complaint and plea for more slots has come up every expansion so far. Each time blizzard has said they do not plan on adding more slots and people moan but it has changed nothing each expansion. All I can say is your going too have too suck it up and roll on another server and are all those slots taken by the same faction? Cause if you say no some are Alliance and some Horde you know what im going too say next.

Said it before, saying it again: Expecting players to delete high level alts to experience new content is purely not a smart move. This is especially true since you guys refuse to give us systems that prevent forcing us to have bank alts.


No high space bags purely for gear
More and more holiday content with more things to get/wear
No tabard storage system
No new bank slots.


I'd happily delete my bank toon so I have room if I could just get even half of this to happen. Hell, an EQUIPMENT bag in itself would be more than enough to open up room on any of my characters. This is something that probably should've happened the second you guys opened up a dual-spec system.

In response to that is it really that hard to add another spot. no it's not and for them to say well sorry for all the time you spent playing / leveling your characters but you gotta delete it is just nuts period.

They shoulda had the foresight that something big might come in the future.

I'd say never EXPECT anything other than that.

I've got 4-5 open slots on Lethon, all with saved-name characters filling them, just waiting for Cata-fun.

I have toons on 4 different servers *now*. I don't think it's gonna kill anybody to start from scratch on a new server for some characters. It's really not that big a deal. Have a friend or two roll a new toon with you if you're worried about the social stuff, and if it's money then roll a DK on the new server to scrounge up some extra coin for your new character.

Sure, extra slots would be nice, but is it really that big a deal?

Always coming through for the fans by not doing simple things!

For blizzard to spend this much time revamping the old world content, adding 2 new races, and fail to allow for at least 2 more character slots would seem like a pretty big oversight. Given the fact that there are currently 10 classes and only 10 character slots it only makes sense to add two more slots. Or at least for every max level character on the server you get an additional character slot (maximum 15 slots total).

I know i already have 10 slots taken up, most of the characters are already lvl 80 or in the mid 70s -- and that's after transferring 2 toons off the server. I definitely want to make a goblin and worgen in the next expansion just to see how the old world content has changed and experience the leveling and quest changes in the low level content. But i'm not paying to move a toon off the server in order to make a new one, since all the people i play with are on that server.

Yes, it's a big deal.

There were solutions for guild storage, having too many pets/mounts, swapping out gear sets, having more than one spec, etc; all were problems that existed in the past, had creative solutions to, that Blizzard responded to and provided players with a specifically designed in-game solution.

Just because you can get around a problem does not mean there should not be an easier solution.

I'll most likely be getting a second account for Cataclysm to keep all my alts on one server. With levelling revamped, new races and new R/C combos I foresee veteran altoholics like myself running into trouble with the character limit. We like having our own little army of alts at our beck and call :)

I have suggested in the past a paid service to open up additional character slots on a specified realm. Those who haven't reached the character limit won't use it (which is the majority of the playerbase), but those who have and want additional characters will, and be grateful it is there.

How hard is it to change one line of code?

"Character Slot Allowment = 10"

to

"Character Slot Allowment = 11"

It's basically that simple.

It probably wouldn't take too much coding changes, but it could end up resulting in a whole lot more memory usage because all the players that have maxed out characters on a server would be able to create more. Though, if they kept the 50 characters total limit, it might balance out.

...sigh...no more char slots :\....
BUT maybe when they release the next class (if they do) THEN they might add another slot!
