quote reply
My friends and I are currently offering Rusted Proto-drakes for sale. Each week we'll carry people through some of the achievements.

Rusted Proto-drake
An entire meta-achievement [Glory of the Ulduar Raider (10 Player)] will run you 25k. Gold is ridiculous these days, and no that is not a particularly high price. A crappy mammoth anyone can get runs 17k, this is much better.

Individual Achievements
We are willing to sell individual achievements that will range from 1k to 5k. Loot is negotiable, but we are less likely to bring you in a run if you are only there for loot as it is not a guaranteed drop. All gold is due up front, full refunds are given if achievements are not accomplished, and priority is given to those spending the most up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled run.

A lot of people already have some/most of their Glory of the Ulduar raider and are simply not going to see a One Light in the Darkness or Firefighter. In this case, we are willing to sub people in for individual achievements. Individual achievements are generally more difficult to schedule as we can only carry 1 or 2 people through some fights and half a raid in others.

[Orbit-uary] 2k
[Iron Dwarf, Medium Rare] 3k
[Stokin' the Furnace] 1k
[Heartbreaker] 2k
[I Choose You, Steelbreaker] 2k
[Disarmed] 1k
[Crazy Cat Lady] 2k
[I Could Say That This Cache Was Rare] 3k
[Lose Your Illusion] 3k
[Knock, Knock, Knock on Wood] 4k
[Firefighter] 5k
[I Love the Smell of Saronite in the Morning] 3k
[One Light in the Darkness] 4k

Scheduling
These runs will take place on the same day every week, to be determined. Likely either late night on weekdays or evenings on weekends. It is our goal that the raid time and invites will be made available no later than Wednesday of a given raid week as to give our customers that are wait listed a chance to go on other runs if need be. Special scheduling may be possible with advance notice.

Loot
There are nearly no drops still wanted by the people involved in running you through, so you'll likely be recieving whatever loot is useful to you, i.e. if you're a warrior and cloth drops, you don't need it. Those will be sharded and go to our bank.

What your part is
You will be coming mainly as extra help. You will not get special assignments and you will participate only in a DPS role. You are expected to not be wearing at least enough gear to be useful - no greens/blues fresh 80s. You will also be expected to use a flask and some potions at your own expense. You should have an idea of how the fights work, but they will be explained in depth as needed. There are very few ways it can happen, but ruining a fight repeatedly with things that can wipe us (Tripping Ominous Clouds, death gripping a raid boss, gross negligence in following basic in structions) will result in forfeiture of your refund for that fight when the time runs out.

If you've decided you want to engage in this offer, please contact Griever/Jorkton in game via mail with the following format:

Jorkton
1 Light in the Darkness
Firefighter

One of us will get back to you in-game within a day with more details. If you are not decided yet and wanna talk about it, feel free to contact us. There isn't much room for haggling - these achievements are priced based on time-invested and how annoying they are.

NEW!
We are now selling Starcaller titles. Less than 20 horde charactres have the title, be one of the first! Interested parties should let Jorkton know about pricing and more information.

Wow.

Good luck with that.

I hope gold sellers aren't going to hack YOUR members so that people who have a burning desire to fly around on pretty things can afford this service.

I can make about 1500g a day doing 2 hours worth of dailies, tops. Most people do even better by simply playing the auction house in their leisure time. It's not very much gold considering how many people will pay 8000g for a ring to get the 10 Achievement points for it, or the 100k it runs to buy an Insane title on the auction house. Not to mention things like the 14k minimum motorcycle mounts or the vendor mammoth, etc. If roleplayers will pay 200g for an RP prop, I'm sure there are not only roleplayers, but players in general who will pay this kind of cash for a 310% mount that's fairly uncommon.

People have a lot of gold and a lot of them will go to great lengths to get achievement points and pretty things. It's not for everybody, but there are people doing it every day on many, many other servers.

You offer "the easy way" which means that people that want the service aren't going to grind dailies or save for it.

They are gonna buy gold.

That's what people do when they want things easy, they cheat, which means your service will cause demand for gold to rise meaning gold sellers are gonna send those emails to guilds asking them to view a video at a website.

They will have keyloggers installed and will be stripped of items and possible gbank resources.

People that want things the easy way wouldn't work for the gold ando.

Clearly we should petition Blizzard to remove expensive things from the game so that people won't get their computers hacked. Regardless, this is our product - take it or leave it.

Honestly I think you should take cash instead, cut out the middle man. That way you can pay for a nice site with the best vent and even have a fund for buying people computer parts when needed.

cept that's against the ToS. can't exchange in game goods or services for actual money.

Nobody cares who would win in a crazy fantasy fist-fight between Anne Frank and Lizzie Borden.

Goods and services, yes. Money, no. (i.e. you can use real money to buy a loot card off of eBay to get an item but you can't use money to buy gold from a gold selller)

Goods and services, no. Tangible real world items may be purchased with money, you cannot use real money to pay for anything in game in any way, this includes goods and services. You can however, purchase the real card off Ebay as you said, I guess I'm just clarifying that that is purchasing a tangible item and is not the same as goods and services :P You can however, buy the in game items with gold, which is what I think you are saying - that's fine.

Lets see, there are 60 minutes in an hour, 120 in 2 hours.

So that is 12.5 gold a minute...

Ok wait, lets see, each daily pays about 13 gold. 1500 / 13 = 115 Dailies.

Since you can only do 25 dailies a day.

I call bull*!@#.

Is this the excuse you told your guildies when you became rich overnight from buying gold?

Yea, ando has a ton of 80's all of which have good gear. I don't doubt he can do as he says, but most people don't have more than 2 80's and don't have the time to farm that much gold in a day. I spent 15-20 minutes on gold farming a day and raid for usually 3 to 5 when I log. So I spent as a casual about 12 to 20 hours a week.

To farm gold at that level you really need to spend what an hour or so each day on it? Maybe 2? Plus raids, so you are looking at 30 to 40 hours a week? That's as much time as a full time job.

People do. People also can make a ton of money by just buying and reposting stuff off the auction house, and that takes you, what, 15 minutes? If people can make enough money to get both a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth and a Chopper, then this kind of money for some achievements is probably not all that out of reach.

Plus, he did say that blatant negligence will result in you forefitting your money, so that eBayer will lose their cash, and not get the achievement. Win-win.

Supply and demand dictate that not everyone could possibly make 1k a day on the AH working the low high system, many people are out of work or are under water on their mortgages IRL for that very reason.

Do you have any evidence to support this? Supply and Demand is not evidence, it's a principle, one that doesn't apply realistically to video game economics. But on another point, what the hell do you care if they sell rusted drakes? Get your nose out of their business and give it up :P This is going to get as silly as my amani war bear thread.

edit- correction: nothing can get as stupid as that thread.
