Aside from the addiction jokes and what have you, i would like to hear others insight on the pace this game has as of late.

What i mostly am referring to is Gear. With conquest farming, raiding, chains, etc it always feels like there are never enough, and that you're never finished, you're "falling behind" the others if you will.

It feels almost like if you cant play on a daily basis to grind and build your character you just wont make it in this "world". With every patch the gap widens and the standards of other players are risen. (also related to GS topics and other topics) If you cant put in a certain amount of time daily, your of banished to exile and can't play with everyone else, simply because you aren't accepted.

WoW literally feels more like a job, and not the inviting game it was of old.

Please feel free to add and share any thoughts and opinions.

Well... I've noticed when I'm out driving and not in a hurry, it is usually a nice sunny day and the music is good. However when I'm stressed driving all over the city, it is usually cloudy, the music sucks, and nobody can drive.

I think of WoW as a progression rather than a job.

. My gear isn't the best but I still get groups or I just throw on what pvp gear I have and do battlegrounds. I am not "Keeping up with the Jones", I'm here to have a good time.

Now if you are looking at endgame items then you will have to devote some time to this.....

That being said;

Once it stops being fun, I stop playing. It's that simple

That's how most MMOs are in general. As you get along, the time sinks get worse.

Confucius say:
If your in game time is too "valuable" to be "wasted", then you probably shouldn't be "wasting" your "valuable" time on a game to begin with.

As long as I'm paying Blizzard to play WoW and not vice versa, I will never see WoW as a job, no matter how fun/boring it gets.

I'd hope it wouldn't feel that way for you. I have taken breaks from the game before, come back, and not felt like I'm behind some curve. I suppose it's all a matter of what you want to accomplish in the game. If I have time to spare and logging in to play World of Warcraft sounds like fun, I will. Sometimes that will be to level an alt, sometimes it will be to do some dailies or finish some zones on my level 80's. At times I'll run Heroics with friends or pick-up groups since the time commitment for each individual dungeon isn't much.

I'm fortunate enough to have recently found a casual raiding guild, so there is some scheduled play involved. Even at that though, we have enough members that I wouldn't be faulted for declining a raid invitation.

If I'm going to sit at my computer to play, I want to have fun. There are times where it may feel a little tedious if we're trying to learn a particular encounter, but those are times when I'm essentially hanging out with good people. Rather than chatting through AIM, I'm chatting in the game or over a voice system.

Again, it depends on what you want to get out of the game, but in the end it's all meant to be fun. Once you step out the door of your home it doesn't matter what gear your character has. What does matter is if you spent time playing the game, you enjoyed that time.

Posting on the forums on the other hand... it kind of feels like a job. :p

Prettiest mess you've ever seen...

Death knights are the only current Hero class, which means they are supposed to be the best class in the game.

WoW isn't a job because you don't get paid for it. Still does take up a lot of time though.
