Q u o t e:
You guys are forgetting about to good times, yes i remember it was way harder to get loot back then but it was fun, cmon.
Ahem. How was it "fun"?
40 people chatting in the same window? Not fun.
40 people chatting in voice chat? Not fun.
40 people killing a boss? Not fun via diminished importance.
40 people organized and showing up on time? Not fun.
40 people means more "AFK 1 sec" or "BRB, need groceries". Not fun.
40 people raids means more variables (and therefor exploits) in designing raid encounters. Not fun.
Finding 40 people for the raid. Not fun.
40 people fighting over a couple pieces of loot? Not fun.
Running a guild with that many personalities without drama? Not fun.
40 person raids are "not fun".
Yes, please bring back 40 person raids so we can show all these rose tinted glass wearing people how much "fun" 40 man raids *really* where. So, then they can finally come back and say "Gosh, I guess I remembered it differently".
In reality, they'll just end up QQ that Blizzard didn't make them as fun as they once where. *sigh*
*edit*
Side note- I raided MC and BWL. MC
still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, even thinking of those days of raiding. Though, I never did get to killing Rag. or very far in BWL, I burnt out of WoW all together by then, thanks to 40 man raids.
*edit 2*
Just to add, 40-mans would be a huge PITA for Bliz. item and encounter designers. How would 40 man differ from 25-man? If it was like 10/25 man, it would have to be better loot. Which means more work for item designers. More imbalance caused by loot, etc. If they don't add new,
better, loot, why would anyone do it over 25 man? Assume it drops 1 item per 5 players (8 items drop per boss).
It would just mean Bliz. has to spend more time and resources balancing an single instance for 10 and 25
and 40 man encounters. That's a heck of a lot less time creating new stuff to play. The quality of balance would drop or content would start taking like 33% longer to be released.
That too, is not fun.
