Definitely thinking too much, but I guess you can boil it down to everybody can perceive things differently. Either way, it's there if you like the way it looks and/or just really want it. I recommend the traveler's tundra mammoth for uber-nerdiness or the hog/chopper for style points.

Kinda like DKs - everyone could easily make one when WoTLK came out, so people assumed everyone else was making one only a few people actually made one...heeeeey, waaaaaaait, that's not how it works at all!

Doesn't help that they were the 310% flyer of classes accessible to everyone until a recent round of nerfs when they were made something closer to 280%.
