It is funny how many people think they're experts about what goes into development because they're a wiz at clicking on buttons.

I wouldn't be surprised if half the people, claiming they know what it would take to implement a race change, don't even know what source code is.

As for this, well I don't work for Blizzard true, but we can get down & dirty about software life cycles, assembly programming, C++/C#/lua/java/perl/ruby/python/prolog/ada, design patterns, algorithms, powers of 2, whatever.

I live for that stuff.

Edit: Although, I suppose it would be off-topic to some degree ><

If you're going to be cynical, the fact that race changes aren't available yet in spite of the fact that they are sure to make Blizzard more money should be all the proof you need to know that they truly aren't ready.

If you're still convinced they're lying, you should probably stop complaining and start thanking them for keeping you from spending your parents' money unnecessarily.

I manage software development for a living. Everyone dumping on the OP should know that he and his supporters have a valid point: that a race change is a subset of a faction change, so if faction changes are implemented correctly, then you get race changes for minimal additional effort. And I have read Zarhym's post in this thread.

Blizzard has their own reasons for not releasing race changes, and I can't read their minds. Perhaps it's for marketing reasons, or perhaps the race change code in the faction change feature isn't flexible enough to handle both needs. But I think the OP has a better understanding of the feature requirements than most of the fanboys telling him how little he knows about software development.

Perhaps the discussion could continue under a different, more constructive premise.
