Really...I have a gear score of 4600+ and the achievements to back it.

And this is a terrible mod. This is another way for people to show off their ePeen. People who use this are still too stupid to realize that gear =/= skill. Bring the player, not the gear.

GS saves time to armomy people when you organize a pug. Great tool, imo ppl under 4k should not be in ToC 10/25 Ony 1025 and VoA 10/25. Those ppl are just leeching.

even with that rule you still get dps lower than tanks or me healing almost 50% of the raid with (supposely) 5 healers. But according to recount, we rarely have more than 3 good healers out of 5 or 6 in pugs.

Recount is a pretty poor tool to evaluate healers.

Of course ppl dying is a good hint too. But If most of the healing comes from AoE its pretty easy to spot with recount. Its like dps, you need to put your cursor over ppl with insane scores and you can see what they are doing.

People get far too wound up about gearscore. If people don't like being shunned because of gearscore, participate in guild runs or form your own raids. You will appreciate just how difficult it is to get a bunch of people together to raid that a) know what they're doing b) come adequately prepared.

Before gearscore/achievements people were denying spots for any number of other reasons. Some valid, some ridiculous. The bottom line is you need to accept that pugs aren't a public service. You aren't entitled to a spot just because you want to volunteer for every raid without taking all the steps everyone else did. This game has a social hierarchy to it as much as gear/achievements. If you're repeatedly shunned there's a good chance it has nothing to do with gearscore.

Few weeks ago I had seen an Ony10 forming up, was mid day, because I was off work that day, and I was /facepalm because I had missed the earlier calls for players when they needed DPS, and now they only needed a tank.

Hoping there might be someone else considering starting a run, I post to trade,

"Full T9 geared hunter LF Ony10"

Surprisingly the same name that was spamming for a tank sent me an invite inside of 20 seconds, filling the 10th spot, and quickly saw him kick another hunter that was in the group.

The raid leader was deffinately using gearscore, as I said,

"lol, I got the other hunter kicked out"
leaders reply "yah you had a way better gearscore" (it was ~5050 at that time)

I did have my 245 ony helm on at the time, but was not wearing my Ony neck at the time, so he was not able to determine that I would not be rolling on the head drop.

Yes the raid leader was a bit of a douche, and it deffinately was not the most ideal/skilled raid, but we got her down, and I didn't need a single drop from the instance anyways, was just looking for something to do.

At the time I didn't take the time to see what the score of the hunter that I replaced was, but I'd assume it was <4.5k for me to get an autoinvite and him kicked.

I do like what the author seems to be working towards with 3.1 release.
