While I have no interest whatsoever in the purchase of gold (I do well enough making it on my own), I would like to say one thing in response to this post:
I try to tell people that many goldsellers get their product from hacked accounts when I can, but this will really get the word out.
Plus if nobody buys gold, (zero demand), then prices will fall and the suppliers will give up and go out of business. The economy improves, the spam goes away, and fewer people get hacked.
Maybe if you made paying for another 80 available to 80s, you wouldn't have this problem. I'm not aware of someone who likes leveling once you hit Northrend, especially now that AV xp was nerfed (on top of them never popping thanks to the anti-pvp efforts last patch).
However, there's never a reason to buy gold. It's ridiculously easy to make.
Here's a question. We're in the middle of a recession. Who, in the name of Thorim's Metallic Underoos, has the disposable income to buy fake money, when you can litterally get the gold for just about anything IN LESS THAN A WEEK.

That's all a matter of opinion. I personally have 12 level 80s at the moment and have enjoyed leveling each one.
