The Dire Maul totem on my shammy lasted until I hit 80. 4 extra bag slots and 10 minutes off the CD of my run back protection? Yes please. I Still bust it out if I know a wipe is imminent in my future. Got lucky and found a friend with the Brazier.

I farmed the mats for this from lvl66 to 70:

I then wore it through Kara, Gruuls, ZA, SSC, TK, MH, BT, Sunwell in the span of 1 year, and then took it through lvl70-80, and wore it for Naxx10, and finally replaced it after about 1.5 years. Yes years. And no nothing better ever dropped in any of those raids except Gorefiend's Cloak which went to another person :(

i refused to quest on my warrior after bg's gave xp, so his lvl 70 green polearm lasted him until i replaced it with the ironsoul from 10man uld.....i had to keep my alliance lance on in between fights so no one would inspect me and see my crappy weapon.....(everything else was epic cuz i pretty much bought it all from so much pvp'ing).

Disregarding Heirloom items, I'd have to say carrot on a stick. A pity it doesnt work past 70, or I'd still be using it.

EDIT: And while it's not a quest reward, special mention MUST go to the Idol of Terror. The ONLY tanking Idol used for most of BC, and the entire first half of Wrath.

In terms of sheer time it was equipped - Dragonspine Trophy on my old hunter main.

Got that early in TBC and didn't take it off til close to entering Naxx 2.0 in WotLK.

Don't think I ever took that trinket off - ever.



The item I've possessed the longest must be the Hurricane Bow - got that in vanilla, first epic ever in the game. Hunter STILL has it in his bank for sentimental reasons.

Verigan's Fist. Lvl 20-45 before I replaced it.

Not sure if badge purchased items are being included or not, but I'm going to include one. I started playing just after Wrath came out:

Libram of Renewal. Starting to creep up on a year and Icecrown doesn't look like it's giving us anything to replace it with.

For my original hunter main, Gnomer's Triprunner Dungarees lasted from like 25 until 40 or 50 (I don't remember which).

The +12 agil polearm from the deadmines is pure hunter win from 20 until... well... Can you use it in heroics? :D
